Lexii Alijai was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She was the granddaughter of musician Roger Troutman, founder of the band Zapp. Her father, Roger Lynch, the son of Roger Troutman, was also a musician. She attended Como Park Senior High School in the Como Lake area of Saint Paul, following an interest in basketball, but then focused on music instead and transferred to Creative Arts Secondary School in Minnesota, before then enrolling in an online school. Alijai ultimately dropped out to pursue a full-time music career and began rapping over the beats of popular songs by artists such as Dej Loaf, 2Pac and Drake.
Alijai released her first mixtape, Super Sweet 16s, in 2014 on her sixteenth birthday. She then collaborated with Rocky Diamonds on an extended play, titled 3 Days. A second mixtape, In the Meantime, was released a few months later, then her third, Feel∙Less, in October that same year.
The following year, she and rapper Shaun Sloan collaborated on a mixtape titled Same Struggle. Different Story. Alijai became close friends with Kehlani the summer before the release of Kehlani's debut commercial mixtape, You Should Be Here, which peaked at number 36 on the Billboard 200. You Should Be Here granted Alijai media attention due to her lyricism and flow presented on the track. Her next full-length project, Joseph's Coat, was released late 2015 and featured contributions from Elle Varner. In 2016, she performed at Soundset Music Festival and had opened up for Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert and Rich the Kid. She released a remix of "Exchange" by Bryson Tiller and "Cold Hearted" by Meek Mill and Jay-Z, along with a music video for her remix of "Cold Hearted."
In 2017, she released a remix of "Redbone" by Childish Gambino and "Me, Myself and I" by Beyoncé. On September 8, Alijai released her first full-length debut studio album, Growing Pains, in which she covered topics such as dropping out of school and maintaining a relationship with her ex-boyfriend's mother.
Lexii Alijai died at the Loews Minneapolis Hotel on January 1, 2020, at the age of 21. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled that the manner of death was an accident. A toxicology report revealed the cause as mixed toxicity from fentanyl and ethanol.

Fuck... thought the beat dropped
Grew up with killers
Couple niggas who would all be there when I call
So they'll all be there when I ball
I drop
They'll all be there if I fall
Gotta get it while I'm here
Tomorrow never come
Then I gotta face fear
Gotta go and get the money
Cause the shit was never here
But I see it real clear
Niggas never really care
Look I be out here on my lonesome
So when I get this money
Bitch don't ask if you can hold some
Bitches Seldom
Always acting like they know some
I turn the other way
My mind ready to run away
Was it something you wanna say?
They know don't play no games wit me
These Niggas lame to me
They don't even get a text back
Cause these fuck niggas too plain for me
Yeah I don't play no games
Nah, Nah
I don't play no games
I said I don't play no games
I don't play no motherfuckin' games
I said I'm Lexii Alijai
I ain't even gotta stress on what they say
Lil' nigga get lucky
If he ain't ugly
Then he get to text me half the day
And I ain't even gotta flex on you
If you matter in my life I'll check for you
Say you really fucking wit me
And I bet you do
No time to talk
And no pressure to
Do what's best for you
Cause I done came from the bottom
And I'm headed to the top wit it
Try to keep it real
But them niggas couldn't rock wit it
They not wit it
How could you not get it?
Stop kidding
Niggas know I never stopped winning
I done seen too much of this
I don't fuck with this
But I'm in love with this
So I'mma give it all I got
Imma run with this
And I'mma hustle till I caint cause I want this shit
They know don't play no games wit me
These Niggas lame to me
They don't even get a text back
Cause these fuck niggas too plain for me
Yeah I don't play no games
Nah, Nah
I don't play no games
I said I don't play no games
I don't play no motherfuckin' games
Like yo, we leavin'
Couple niggas
They creepin
I can't trust anybody
They changing shit like the seasons
Came up
I got a reason
Bitch I'm hotter than a demon
If I said that shit, I mean it
This shit is too fuckin easy
Like woah-oh-oh-oh-ah
You niggas never know wassup
Bitch I don't give no fucks
Don't play No Games
Like woah-oh-oh-oh-ah
You niggas never know wassup
Bitch I don't give no fucks
Don't play No Games
Yeah
Don't play No
Uh
Don't play No
Don't play No
Don't play No, Games
Yo
I said I don't play No Games
I said I
I said I
Don't play No Games
Look
N-O G-A-M-E-S
Work all week
And the same on the weekends
Cheers for now
Hustle hard
Swear that we'll be good years from now
And when it all began
You wasn't wit me on the grind
Don't call me then
And when that money start fallin in
I bet you bitches still be in the club partyin
No Games
That's why I don't play No Games
But look
I won't say no names
No Games, No Games

However, she remains steadfast in her commitment to achieving success despite any obstacles that might stand in her way.
