In the verses, the singer delves deeper into the complexities of their actions within the relationship. They admit to causing hurt despite not intending to, demonstrating a sense of self-awareness and remorse. The imagery of leading the other person astray and causing them to cry conveys a sense of guilt and a realization of the consequences of their actions.
The repeated line "I'm sorry that I hurt you with a shrug and a sigh babe" encapsulates the singer's regret and acknowledgment of their mistakes. There is a recognition of their own shortcomings and an understanding of the pain they have caused. The self-reproach and inability to explain why things went wrong suggest a sense of confusion and frustration, further emphasizing the complexity of human emotions and relationships.

I am Japanese. I knew this song in 2005 when I was in high school. I thought it was cool to hear that high school student in the Far East were listening to oldschool style dance music born in Germany. It was youth. 2020, listen now, this song is still cool.
