Great Lake
Li Li Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There is a light in you,
I have fallen into.
There is a light in you,
I have fallen into,
Fallen in too.

Put all your weapons away.
I won't fight you just to spite you.
Put all your weapons away,
And your mask, it's failing anyway,
Falling away.

Stop, listen, feel.
Stop, listen, feel.
Stop, listen, feel.
Believe, believe.

And if love is a war,
I won't have any more.
If this is what we call a war,
I won't have it anymore

Stop, listen, feel.
Stop, listen, feel.
Stop, listen, feel.
Believe, believe.

Put all your weapons away,
And end all your casual ties.
Put all your weapons away,
And end all your casual ties.
Casual ties.

Believe all your lives.
Believe in your lives.

Believe all your lives.
Believe in your lives

Overall Meaning

The core message of Li Li's song "Great Lake" revolves around love and the unstoppable power that it holds. The song begins with the affirmation of the light within the person that the singer is addressing, using it as a metaphor to describe the attraction and the deep connection between them. The singer has fallen into the light, which could be taken as a reference to falling in love or finding solace in the person they are talking to. The next verse switches to a more defensive tone, urging the other person to put away their weapons, and not to fight just to spite each other. The song seems to be calling out the common patterns of a relationship, where love is fought over and not cherished. The line "put your mask away, it's failing anyway" is a powerful way of telling someone to drop their defenses and embrace themselves truly.

The chorus is repetitive but serves as an important reminder to "stop, listen, feel." It is a call to be present, to be alive and to experience the emotions that are overwhelming the singer. The line "believe, believe" is a powerful affirmation, urging the listener to believe in themselves and their love. The last verse of the song takes on a more conclusive tone, urging the person to end all their casual ties and to believe in their lives.

Overall, Li Li's "Great Lake" is a beautiful song about the power of love when it is not caged or put to trial. It urges for a deeper understanding of the emotions involved in a relationship and a more profound appreciation of the person in front of us.

You put all my bottled thoughts into a perfect comment, thank you good sir.

It seems like his character really changed, one of the best things in the first games was his back and forth with the bullies, not just with Bobby, he did it with literally all the bullies including the two who blocked the way to the cabin. It also seemed like the characters were always mean in a funny way or had their mean behavior lead to a funny joke instead of being purely mean like stealing his clothes, though that might just be because of the time they had to say dialogue.

The first game was also much darker and referenced suicide, dirty movies, isolation chambers, missing children, etc, it even had one of the very first jokes in the game be about how Dogen was killing animals and hearing things which was hinting at him being a murderer, all of those darker themes were really turned down after the Rombus or Ruin.

In the first game he really felt competent and wasn't just the typical noob who gets pushed around at the beginning of a school for the gifted type deal, that really made it feel different from other games and shows which made seeing it special. He even started off the game being shown to be naturally gifted and charismatic.

And yes his relationship with Lily was completely reset which is odd because they barely interact in the second, after every the happened in the Rombus I really expected more.

All that being said the second game is pretty good, especially the parts with his family which I feel rival the first game in terms of characters and fun interactions, I just hope we get to see more of them.

He had a Psychic BOOST because of Meteor under the lake

In the in between game

Rombus of ruin

His mind was effected by Psychic dampening stone

That's why he was not his game 1 self in game 2

1 - his already powerful psyche was boosted in game 1

2- the Psylirium in Rombus of Ruin weakened his mind to a degree

3- He had to retrain his mind in game 2 however, he already had his Abilities from game 1 unlocked

@Buster

His father in the second game talks about an "Elephant" sitting on his Train collection

It was an excuse of Raz's mom

So, it ended up being a family joke that Raz had to clean up after the "Elephants"

In other words, Raz had to cover for his Mom Destroying his father's things

its amazes me how a video game of huge headed, psychic children can make a more realistic and wholesome relationship more than most modern media

@Keondra Mcintyre

Only difference is Moxxie is a character who is allowed to actually Swear

For Raz he has to be more PG 13 with his language

And not R rated language like Helluva Boss

Shelby Bayer

The second game does it again but with a Gay couple

Bob and Helmut

One of the biggest things I love about the Sequel, a gay couple done in a way that's sweet without being condescending or too in your face

Dog

@Keshuel With "western" you mean American, right?

Keondra Mcintyre

Even more amazing that two imps form Hell can have a loving marriage than humans. I'm talking about Moxxie and Millie from Helluva Boos, which Richard Horwitz voiced Moxxie in a similar manner like how he voiced Raz.😶

One word, KIDS

Out of all the voice performances from Richard Horvitz, his role as Raz (in my opinion) is one of his best roles yet. Maybe even more than Zim from Invader Zim or Moxxie from Helluva Boss.

Don't forget Billy from Billy and Mandy, and Dagget Beaver from Angry Beavers.

Ded Owl

@Spyjack same voice actor
