Librarians follow up their debut full-length… Read Full Bio ↴See also The Librarians
Librarians follow up their debut full-length, Alright Easy Candy Stranger, by delving into the catalogs of baroque pop and new wave without abandoning the viscous dance-punk that first captivated audiences in their home state of West Virginia. File "Candy Season" under B for boat drinks, bouncy psychedelia and beaches. "Cranberry Palace" belongs amongst the 60's heartbreakers, between the charm of The Turtles and the pitch perfect humility of The Zombies. On "Marilla Park" the band channels the smooth delivery of Clinic with a hint of Echo and the Bunnymen. Appalachia may not seem to be the first place you'd look for weird, kaleidoscopic party jams, but with Present Passed Librarians continue to defy easy classification.
So What
Librarians Lyrics

You fall in love with everyone, so what
What's the use
When your time don't cost anything, what's the use
Love ain't that loose
The simplest things bring a tear to your eye
It's easy to laugh, you at least gotta try
I wanna know that I can call your name to make everything cool
And that you're always there when I need someone to talk to
About whatever it is that's got me down
And if there's anything good out there waiting to be found
Like a universe without surprise
Where nobody lives and nobody dies
I wanna call your name to make everything cool
It's like you're always there when I need someone to talk to
About whatever it is that's got me down
And if there's anything good out there waiting to be found
Killin' my time with something else
That makes me feel unsure about myself
The people I love help me with that
The song "So What" by The Librarians revolves around the theme of love and the singer's perception of it. The first lines of the song, "You fall in love with everyone, so what / What's the use / When your time don't cost anything, what's the use / Love ain't that loose," suggest that the singer feels like love is something that comes easily to them and that it's not worth much since it's not hard to obtain. It seems like the singer is not sure whether love is really valuable or just something that happens to them without much effort.
The song then shifts to the idea of finding solace in someone when things aren't going well. The singer says that they want to be able to rely on someone to make everything okay, someone who is always there when they need someone to talk to. They're looking for a person who can help them work out their problems and find something to look forward to. At the same time, the singer acknowledges that they enjoy simple things that make them happy, but they also have moments of sadness that they need help getting through.
Overall, the song seems to be about the complexities of love and human relationships. It expresses the desire for someone to be there during both good and bad times, and the struggle to figure out what love really means.
