When Lil B titled his last digital label released mixtape I'm Gay, he received several death threats. Although he is heterosexual, he says the title is a message of support to the LGBT community. Referring to the alternative definition of gay, he says he is gay because he is happy. Following the death threats, he added "I'm Happy" in parenthesis to the album's title. I'm Gay received positive reviews with many fans commenting on the album's wide variety of positive messages and noting the unique beats and lyrical styles not common to mainstream hip hop. He raps about many controversial issues including race relations, poverty, humanity, and the justice system. The album also, according to many fans, shows the "true" side of Lil B. It entered the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart at #56 and the Heatseekers Albums chart at #20 for the week of July 16, 2011. It is for sale on iTunes but Lil B also uploaded it to the Internet for free, posting a link to it on Twitter and Facebook saying, "for all my fans who don't have $10 to buy my album, here it is for free."
Lil B typically releases at least one mixtape every month; so far in 2012 he has released 13 mixtapes - 4 in July alone. One of those released in July was the massive 848-song, nearly 5GB collection of Based Freestyles, which is his largest release to date. In 2013, hip-hop listeners voted Lil B as the greatest rapper of all time.

In the song "I Own Swag", Lil B starts by bragging about killing the rap game and owning everything. He doesn't care about what others think about him and tells them to "FUCK EM". In the first verse, Lil B asserts that he owns swag and compares himself to a star from Sacramento. He talks about holding a gun and being ready to use it while also not caring about language etiquette. He then mocks someone who asks him about his car by asking which one they are talking about, implying that he owns many cars.
In the second verse, Lil B talks about the impact of smoking weed and owning a gun. He also mentions wanting to drink and hook up with women. Lil B also creates a reference to the NBA player, Shaquille O'Neal, who is also known as Shaq or the Big Thig. In the third verse, Lil B talks about his evil alter ego, Evil Basedgod, juxtaposing his more traditional role as a protector with his more sinister one. He shares that he has never been robbed, implying his toughness, and then warns potential robbers to get day-jobs. He also references fellow rapper Mac Dre and his hit song "That's Not My Job" while also nodding to his promiscuous nature. In verse four, Lil B talks about wanting a sex partner and mentioning his desire to have a mixed group of Latin women. Lil B then continues by saying that he does not pass women off, but instead "cuffs" them, or keeps them. He also remarks about anal sex and then returns to bragging about his wealth.
The fifth and penultimate verse of the song is relatively short. Lil B begins by mentioning that he takes Viagra to increase his sexual performance, and brags about his sexual prowess in general. Lil B then returns to talking about his wealth and power. In the final verse of the song, Lil B references baseball player Alex Rodriguez and rapper Daddy Yankee, and talks about living in a world where people talk shit but he doesn't care. Lil B then goes on to say that he is a bad boy, comparing himself to fictional gangster Tony Montana from the movie "Scarface." He also makes a reference to late rapper Pimp C's famous line "more money, more problems" while also referencing his success last year.
