3) Lilith is a German-Kurdish women group which plays traditional, folk and world music. Lilith was founded in 1999 by Gabriele Thierkopf and Şehriban Özdemir. In 2003, when the group was complete, they changed their name from „Göğün Yarısı - Hälfte des Lebens“ (Half Of Life) into the shorter name „LİLİTH“.The five artists are two German, two Kurdish and one Turkish-Alevi woman. They sing traditional and new composed folk songs about women themes in Kurdish (Kirmanji and Zaza), German, Yiddish, French and Turkish. These menmbers (four of them live in Germany) are: Gabriele Thierkopf (guitar and vocals), - Şehriban Özdemir (tembur, dshura), Sariyar (lead vocal), Luise Blum (violin) and Mavis Güneşer (frame drum and vocals). The lyrics to Lilith's song "Twierdza" describe a mysterious fortress standing on a cliff, guarded by a thousand traps to prevent anyone from entering it. The fortress holds ancient secrets, and in its chambers, the darkest nightmares are said to sleep. The stones that make up the fortress have stood for centuries, painted with blood, pain, and suffering. The moat surrounding the fortress is filled with tears, and broken swords can be found throughout the area. The windows have dead eyes, and the bridge leading to the fortress is decayed. If a lone knight were to venture there, he would meet death behind the stone threshold, and his heart would freeze with the coldness of the ancient walls, and he would be forever trapped there. The dungeon inside the fortress is believed to be filled with the desperate cries of tortured souls, the wails of families who have lost their fathers, and the screams of prisoners who were killed and mutilated. Only rats visit the white bones lying in the fortress, but even they do not remember the days of hate and anger that once consumed the area when the gods had abandoned it.
The lyrics are written in a gothic style that captures the mystery and horror of the fortress. The words conjure vivid images of an eerie, haunted castle where the ghosts of tortured souls and the dangers of curses become a reality. The song's melody and dark tones add to the atmosphere of a cursed place. It's apparent that the song is telling a cautionary tale of the danger of venturing on unknown paths that may lead to a place filled with unspeakable terror.
