(Chorus 1)
Baby, baby
I don't wanna lose you, oh no
Baby, baby
I don't wanna lose you
Even when you say you're gonna leave me
I don't wanna know what you say is true
I don't mean to make you so unhappy
I never thought that you could make me cry
(Repeat Chorus 1)
(Repeat Chorus 2)
Could it be that you just want to hurt me?
Sometimes you don't even let me try
But I know that you love me when you tell me
Magic ways that treasures cannot buy
(Instrumental Break)
(Repeat Chorus 1)
(Repeat Chorus 2)
(Repeat First Verse)
Baby, baby
Baby, baby
(Repeat Chorus 1 and Fade)
The lyrics to Lime's song "I Don't Wanna Lose You" express a steadfast commitment to keeping a relationship together, despite the challenges that may arise. The singer expresses a deep fear of losing their partner, repeating the line "baby, baby, I don't wanna lose you" in the chorus. Even when their partner threatens to leave or makes them unhappy, the singer is willing to work through it and try to make things better.
In the second chorus, the singer acknowledges that their partner may be trying to hurt them, or may be pushing them away intentionally. However, they still refuse to believe that their partner truly wants to leave, and they cling to the hope that their love is strong enough to withstand any obstacles.
The instrumental break in the middle of the song emphasizes the emotion and urgency of the lyrics, with the repeated refrain of "baby, baby" underscoring the singer's desperation to hold onto their relationship.
Overall, the song is a poignant expression of the fear and insecurity that can come with being in a romantic relationship, but also the power of love to keep two people together through difficult times.
