Nothing At All
Lindi Ortega Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Here on my pillow
Come lay down on my bed
Let me hold you until tomorrow
I know it hurts
I know how hard you fall
It could be worse
You been crying for some love
And you drown in your own river
And although the winter’s gone
I can still, I can still feel your shiver
I know it hurts
I know how hard you fall
It could be worse
You could be feeling nothing at all
I know it hurts
I know how hard you fall
It could be worse
You could be feeling nothing at all
You could be feeling nothing at all
You could be feeling nothing at all
You could be feeling nothing at all
The lyrics to Lindi Ortega's song Nothing At All capture a moment of comfort and solace to someone who is suffering from heartbreak. The singer offers their bed and pillow as a place to rest and find peace. They acknowledge the pain that the other person is feeling, but remind them that it could be worse, that they could be feeling nothing at all.
The line "You been crying for some love and you drown in your own river" is particularly powerful as it paints a vivid picture of someone who is consumed by their own emotions. The metaphor of drowning in their own river speaks to the overwhelming feeling of sorrow and despair that comes with heartbreak. The line "although the winter's gone, I can still feel your shiver" is also evocative, suggesting that despite the passing of time, the person is still suffering the effects of the heartbreak.
Overall, the song is a poignant reminder of the power of human emotion, both in its ability to cause great pain and to offer comfort and support.

OMG. So i remember seeing you on Myspace YEEAAARRSS ago in college. I had a copy of your album "Fall from Grace", and I was so looking for this, had no idea you would be the success you have become now. Bravo to your Lindi and thanks for these memories, because this debut album was one of my favorites.

I just looked up this song again after a few years of not hearing it. MySpace was exactly how I originally stumbled on it and I'm so glad it's still up here. As emotionally stirring now as it was back then, heightened more by so many experiences that have happened since then.

Not many artists are able to capture sorrow like this. This emotion is usually forced in music, but when it comes naturally like this it makes your heart heavy and your night long. Lindi Ortega, without this song is an amazing artist, but with this song puts her in another caliber. This heart-wrenching beautiful song is amongst my favorites. "Misery My Love" is also a favorite of mine from the same album. The music, the lyrics, the vocals, all collide for an instant classic. Love it!

Oh Lindi, we were in each other's lives when you wrote this song! Now I'm listening to it while I grieve. Thanks, sister!

as did I, and then I finally pushed my nerves aside and begged her to put this up on youtube for me. It is one of the only songs in the world that describe the pain i'm in because of my depression and i told her that. Thats how much this song means to me. When no one understands. This song understands. I'm so thankful she put this up for me,and for others who were searching for it. <3 many blessings
