The band gives a nod to American traditional music, while boldy taking their own songs in new directions.
Distinct vocals, tight harmonies, instrumental expertise, and creative arrangements are all essential characteristics of their unique sound. The group focuses on the original tunes of Lindsay Lou Rilko, which include true-life tales of bank-robbing aunties, moonshinin' grandpas, and celebrations of love, life, and nature. Don't be surprised to hear bluegrass standards, Beatles hits, and contemporary classics at a Flatbelly's show as well. It's an infectious vibe that could only have been born in the heart of America's Fresh Coast.

Miss the Flatbellys...but I recently saw Sierra Ferrell and the mandolin player from the Flatbellys is her mando player and backup singer. They sound amazing together and that dude has honed his skills and sharpened his chops. He definitely jumped on the right train. Sierra gets bigger by the day. Generational talent...

In the course of this life you come across a song or two that really gets to you. You find yourself humming it to yourself all the time; listening to it over and over again. This is one of those songs for me.

When they were living in Ionia, it was the house across the street from us! You would come home in the evening and hear the music filling the neighborhood!!

Mike Anderson, Ionia with Lindsay and the Flatbellys, it is another word for The Heaven!

OH RUB IT IN PAL WHY DON'T'CHA! What a lovely experience, and existence, to lull the early-to-as-late-as-U-WANT (my opinion, but I respect early sleep-needing ppl/fams/kiddos, for sure) night away to these magical creators. Incredible. And Lindsey's only 18?! What a wise, mature voice, presence. Beautiful.
