1) Liquid explosively emerged in 1991 with the seminal anthem 'Sweet Harmony', timelessly layering classic house over rolling, breakneck beats. This was followed by the pioneering and experimental 'Future Music' E.P. which included the dark and atmospheric breakbeat dub classic 'Liquid Is Liquid'.
Band members were Shane Henegan (DJ Model) and Eamon Downes (Ame) were joined for the first three ep's by producer Jezz Wright
Following Shane Heneghan's departure from the band after the first two releases, the liquid reputation for producing challengingly alternative floorfillers was cemented with 'Time To Get Up' described as a progressive gem and the balearic tinged, flamenco guitars of 'One Love Family' - both of which were mixmag singles of the week.
Liquid have, with top 20 singles in the UK, and european hit singles, achieved huge commercial success while maintaining critical acclaim. the nme describe the XL recordings album 'Liquid Culture' as "sophisticated, soulful techno" and mixmag effuse how it "works beautifully".
Liquid have perfomed live internationally in many countries over many years and after some time away are on the road again.
2) Liquid is also a slovak hard-rock band formed in 2005. This group consists of the members of the band Liquid Boogie Roll and singer Martin Androvič. They released their first album "Another Dimension" in 2006.
3) Liquid is also the stage name of R&B/Rap artist Victor Manuel Oquendo, who released his album "Tales from the Badlands" in 2005 off of Gotee records. Oquendo's tribute to the streets of Philly is his only studio album that has been released so far.
Holding On

When the third shift starts and your forced to stay
fifty six hours every seven days
Did you see this coming when you graduated
You try so hard but it's just no use
It's like holding in a cough in a quiet room
What the hells the point of a raise in pay
Feeling like shit nearly every day
You're always looking around it's
All the same shit
Whatcha gonna do now?
Exactly what I'm supposed to do
So give me something that'll get me through
Let me take five minutes Let me break on through
By the time I'm thirty I'll be thirty five
I've been auto piloting a great big lie
And you try so hard but it's just no use
It's like holding in a cough in a quiet room
What the hells the point of a raise in pay
Feeling like shit nearly every day
And everybody around is
Always asking the same shit
Whatcha gonna do now?
Exactly what I'm supposed to do
The lyrics of Liquid's song "Holding On" depict the struggles and frustrations of everyday life, particularly in the context of work and adulthood. The song begins by addressing the feeling of hating every second of one's existence, being forced to work long hours (even during the night shift), and feeling trapped in a never-ending cycle of work. The lyrics suggest a sense of disillusionment and disappointment, questioning if this is what was expected after graduating.
The chorus expresses the futile efforts to improve the situation, comparing it to holding in a cough in a quiet room. The lyrics convey a sense of hopelessness and frustration, wondering what the point of a raise in pay is if one feels terrible almost every day. The song portrays the singer as constantly searching for something to make life bearable, longing for a few minutes to break free from the monotony and lies.
The second verse continues the theme of dissatisfaction and resignation, mentioning the autopilot mode that the singer has been operating on, living a lie. The lyrics emphasize that despite trying hard, it feels like there is no solution or escape from the daily struggles. The chorus reiterates the frustration of everyone around asking the same questions, limiting the choices available to the singer, who feels obligated to follow societal expectations.
Overall, "Holding On" reflects the feelings of being trapped, frustrated, and disillusioned in the monotonous and unfulfilling aspects of life.
