"Sugar Plum" was recorded for Spring records, probably in 1968, but was not released until 2004 — a year after Little Eva's death — on the compilation "Where the Girls Are, Volume 6" (Ace Records). Spring was the label of Julie and Roy Rifkind's Guardian Productions; the label started in 1967 and closed in 1989. "Sugar Plum" was written and probably produced by Harold Thomas, another Guardian artist. Eva's first release on Spring was her version of "Get Ready" / "Up Tight" in the summer of 1968; The B-side was Thomas song, "Mr. Everything." Thomas produced that record."
