Crazy Train
Living Loud Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it's not to late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate Mental wounds not healing
Life's a bitter shame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train I've listened to preachers
I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you have the role Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words
Yeh-h Heirs of a cold war
That's what we've become
Inheriting troubles I'm mentally numb
Crazy, I just cannot bear
I'm living with something that just isn't fair Mental wounds not healing

Who and what's to blame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

The lyrics of the song "Crazy Train" by Living Loud are a reflection of the chaos and disorder that exist within the world. The song begins by stating that the world is crazy, and that there are millions of people who are living as foes. The mental wounds of the world are not healing, and life is described as a bitter shame. The singer has reached a point where he feels as if he is going off the rails on a crazy train.

The song suggests that people are conditioned to rule and control by the media, and that this conditioning has led to mental wounds that are still screaming. The lyrics point out that things are going wrong for the singer and for the world, and that people need to listen to his words. Daisley & Kerslake helped write the songs & Randy created his own solos & fills in them...these aren't meant to be an homage to/copy of those versions...they are to show that Daisley & Kerslake have the rights to get any other artists to create their own individual take on the song as they are original cowriters of them also...
All of the familiar parts are what Daisley & Kerslake helped write...Morse is not Randy & in no way whatsoever should have tried to copy Randy's style on these versions as that would have completely defeated the whole purpose of this project.

& For the record...these aren't "covers"...covers are done by people that didn't write the originals...these are the original writers doing their own songs with different alternate performers...
IOW Ozzy's versions are just as much "copies" of these songs as these are.

You & everybody that replied in agreement with you on this comment totally missed the point.

& for the record...of course Randy's version is far superior...he was Randy Fuckin Rhoades dude (& btw...the keyboardist on these...Don Airey...was Ozzy's keyboardist when Randy died...
& is the only person that actually witnessed Randy's death...actually saw the plane crash).

@Water Sampling Vlog BTW...you forgot to mention Don Airey also...who played keyboards on Blizzard & was not only touring with Ozzy on the Diary tour but is the only person to have actually witnessed the plane crash that took Randy's life.

@Water Sampling Vlog my bad...was just (about an hour earlier) reading up on Uriah Heep before coming here & got him confused with Don Hensley...the context of them saying "RIP" about Kerslake & you referencing Daisley in the same comment threw me off.
Thanx for clarifying... I'll edit that out so it doesn't cause confusion.

@Chaos H Bob Daisley is very much alive, and doing well. I was reminding my YouTube friend that he shouldn’t forget to recognise Bob Daisley, as a fellow original Ozzy member, just like Lee Kerslake. Sorry for confusion

Water Sampling Vlog

Don’t forget Bob Daisley, who is slapping the bass 😉

THIS IS JUST GRAND TO HAVE DON AIREY, BOB DAISLEY, and LEE KEERSLAKE (original musicians that made two of the most iconic albums "Bizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman") PERFORM TOGETHER! All three are phenomenal musicians and sound great. Hearing them live brings joy--except for not having a guitar player that works well with this style of music--to my heart.

Steve Morse is a great guitar player, and I liked his solo albums. I've never liked him in Deep Purple nor in this video. His style of playing does not fit.

I read in one of the comments here that said it should have had Zakk Wylde in this video....that's a total load of bullshit, because Zakk is not that great of a player and hasn't developed well over the years. He's not a bottle of wine that gets better with age; he's more of a wino. His tone is shit and has ruined many songs by not understanding melody. The constant chicken squawks have turned me off of artificial harmonics. The only two albums Zakk Wylde sounded decent on were the two that Bob Daisley actually helped create (No Rest for the Wicked and No More Tears). Past that, Ozzy's solo albums have sounded like shit.

I would have truly loved to see Jake E. Lee here instead or maybe Brad Gillis...or even John Holmes. Hell, even Doug Aldrich would have been an improvement over Morse. I think that Jake would have been a much better fit, because he was also screwed over by Sharon and Ozzy--like Daisley and Kerslake...and even Airey. I will have to check out Living Loud's recordings.

Tom Gardner “Constant Chicken squawks “!! Lol ! You got that right!

I love them all. Jimmy Barnes also sang in Jon Lord's live band Hoochie Choochie Men (also with Bob Daisley) and perfectly performed in a Purple's cover "When A Blind Man Cries"
