My Own Way
Lord Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Doing my time for another crime
Not waking up or sleeping fine
Trying to find a witness
That I was minding my own business

Getting involved is getting nothing solved
Several facts around which this revolved
Starting to scare me witless
But I was minding my own business

Another escape on CCTV tape
Sewing a wound before it starts to gape
I know I'm on a hitlist
But I was minding my own business

Evidence found lying on the ground
Pointing to me, but I'm not around
I don't know how I missed this
When I was minding my own business

Minding my own business
Minding my own business
Minding my own business
Minding my own business

All is often not what it seems
Repeats of those events plague my dreams
Make believe if you know how to leave
Or else remain

Minding my own business
Minding my own business
Minding my own business
Minding my own business

Minding my own business
Minding my own business

Minding my own business
Minding my own business

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Lord's song "My Own Way" unfold a tale of someone caught up in a crime they did not commit. The singer is doing time for a crime they didn't commit, and they find themselves in the middle of a scenario they have no control over. The person is having trouble sleeping and is trying to find a witness who can attest to their innocence. The singer is aware that getting involved in the situation will not solve anything, and they are starting to get scared, but they continue to mind their own business.

Throughout the song, the singer describes their feelings and experiences as they try to clear their name. They describe being caught on CCTV tape and trying to prevent a wound from opening up while knowing they are on a hitlist for a crime they did not commit. The evidence found at the scene points to the singer, but they were not around when the crime was committed. The chorus repeats the phrase "minding my own business," highlighting the singer's focus on clearing their name.

The song's overall message is one of perseverance through challenging circumstances, even when everything seems to be working against a person's better judgment. It's a warning to mind your own business and avoid getting caught up in situations that could lead to trouble.

Jesus Saves

1.Jésus, doux Maître,
Règne sur moi,
Soumets mon être,
Sois-en le Roi;
Je suis l'argile,
Toi le potier,
Rends-moi docile,
Ton prisonnier.

2.Jésus, lumière,
Pénètre en moi,
Éprouve, éclaire
Ma faible foi;
Plus blanc que neige
Rends-moi Seigneur,
Et de tout piège
Garde mon coeur.

3.Ô Jésus, source
De guérison,
Sois, dans ma course,
Santé, pardon;
Par ta puissance,
Viens, soutiens-moi;
Par ta présence,
Révèle-toi.

4.Je m'abandonne,
Jésus à toi,
Détruis, pardonne
Tout mal en moi;
Remplis mon âme
De ton Esprit,
Et qu'il m'enflamme
Et jour et nuit!

Hymes et Louanges #494

Blessed levi

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mould me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me, I pray!
Power, all power, surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Hold o’er my being absolute sway!
Fill with Thy Spirit till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me.

Last night I was praying abt something regarding a decision which will affect my career. I know what God wants but it is clearly not what I want. Eventually I told God just tell me what to do.

That very night I had a dream. In the dream I heard a hymn, a beautiful hymn, a hymn I have sang many times. So I sang along. But in the dream, I didn’t know what I was singing. All I knew was I was happily singing along.

Then I woke up. Then almost immediately I open my mouth to sing: Have thine own way Lord, have thine own way. Thou is the Potter, I m the clay.

So, I know to obey God and accept the offer since God speaks so clearly to me.
I shall go with faith and just do it.

Tk you for praying this song so beautifully.
