Now known as "calypsonians," they had independent careers, performing in tents, movie theaters and other venues during the Carnival season.
Since the turn of the century, calypso performers had given themselves unique sobriquets. Among the best-known artists of the 1930s were Lord Executor, Atilla the Hun, the Roaring Lion and the Growling Tiger. Such names expressed the calypsonians' sense of grandeur and the forcefulness with which they competed in song.

Well, Tony, I can tell you, I don't think they exist on the internet. I hunted for days and ended up calling the University of Wisconsin library. The had a copy of a book on the calypso chantwells. The book came with a CD that featured this song and it had the lyrics. They were kind enough to e-mail the lyrics to me.
(And yes, SNZ totally cribbed this song.)
Here they are, as I remember them:
I was beat and broken down
All my nerves shattered and gone
Who caused that cruelty to me
No other but a woman called Dorothy
Repeat chorus
Now Dorothy a nice high brown
Weighing two hundred and sixteen pounds
And I the Executor the featherweight
She made me tremble like an earthquake
Chorus
Now Dorothy would sit on my knee
And feed me with the vitamins of quality
And all the time she would say to me
"Executor, you're losing vitality"
Chorus
The D and the O and the R and the A and the T and the H and the Y
They say "Now Dorothy darling you make me tame
You want the Executor to lose his name"
Chorus
She had a habit and a way to sit on my back
To ride me as a racehorse upon the track
Leaving me in sorrow, pain and disgrace
Just like Campbell riding a race
Chorus (X2)
I met her it was (French phrase I can't remember)
The translated word means The Monkey Track
It was there I told her (more French)
And she told me (even more French)
Chorus
She told me "Executor, you must stay with me
Brutalize me, you can even beat me
Do what you like you can tear up me clothes
But you know I'm a woman who loves your blows"
Chorus

Good stuff. Really atmospheric for such a simple sounding track.

"This song is a bit like Hell by squirrel nut zippers."
I think you must mean "Hell by squirrel nut zippers is a lot like this song..."
Torsten Landsson
Sure, but they managed to make it much better than this one
gonaedeath2
@Torsten Landsson Well this one is from the early 1900s. Of course it won't sound better.
Torsten Landsson
@gonaedeath2 Not just in sound quality but also in the general grooviness of the tune
gonaedeath2
@Torsten Landsson Well, this is from the early 1900s so you won't get the full feel of the music.....since its not recorded well. Check out Rum and Coca Cola. The original doesn't sound as well as the stolen/cover version. But then listen to Calypso Rose's version and you'll see how it's supposed to sound.

Where do I find the lyrics? This song is a bit like Hell by squirrel nut zippers.
