Los miembros fundadores del grupo son Dr. Shecter (guitarra), Albertín Sobórnez (bajista), Bulbul (batería) y Monigote (cantante). Piterius Monk sustituyó al bajo a Sobornez, hasta la formación actual: Dr. Shecter, Mister Trócolo (batería), Profesor Fellwood (bajo) y Monigote.
También consideran como un "quinto miembro" del grupo a Casiotone, un teclado Casio VL-1 similar al que usaba el grupo alemán Trio y que utilizan para parodiar la canción "Da da da" de dicho grupo.
El grupo gira siempre con un telonero. Los Peter-Amish, The Teloners, Los Tipical Brothers... En realidad son los propios Peter caldeando el ambiente antes de empezar.
Además de en Los Petersellers, sus miembros han pasado por grupos como The Refrescos, Def Con Dos, Peta Z Pop o Superagente 86 entre otros.
El grupo se caracteriza por sus divertidas letras, en las que hablan sobre personajes tan dispares como Niki Lauda, el comandante Cousteau o Los Ramones. Son incontables las referencias y homenajes a otras canciones que aparecen en sus versiones.
