The lyrics of Los Rancheros’s song, Mujer de Medianoche, tell the story of a man who is driving through a never-ending road with a woman by his side. He asks the woman to invite him to follow her through the road, and he asks her to turn on the radio because he doesn't want to sleep. As they drive together, he admires the beauty of the stars shining in front of them. The woman, his "midnight woman," becomes his source of excitement and pleasure, and he can't imagine living without her. He instructs her to put on lipstick and take charge, he wants her to take control of their romantic encounter: he wants her to love, kiss, bite him if possible- until they make love.
The chorus of the song tells the story of the man's admiration for this woman who has become such a significant figure in his life since she came into it- his "midnight woman." He attests that he cannot live without her, describing her as his ultimate fantasy. The song seems to hint that the woman is a symbol of adventure and excitement, her presence making his life so much more exciting as they go on road trips and explore the world together. He is so infatuated with her that the only way he can escape this feeling is if she takes him far away from everything that he knows and loves. He pleads with her to dance for him, not only because it gives him pleasure, but also because he fears that the wolves might come for him after midnight.
