Lost Witness are DJ / Producer Simon Paul and producer Simon Kemper. The dynamic duo met and formed in May 1998 as Dusk Til Dawn and enjoyed the underground success of Fine Night, which in turn brought songwriter Ed Barton into the frame as the third, if more silent member, to complete the happy union.
Vocals of the early hits 'Red Sun Rising' and 'Did I Dream (Song to the Siren)' were supplied by Tracy Carmen.
Paul & Kemper have both experienced similar musical upbringings with Paul's parents heavily influenced by big band and jazz while Kemper's pursued and continue to pursue the opera. Simon Paul has been actively DJing for 14 years, following the peaks and troughs of house music which has inevitably shaped the way he produces. Simon Kemper has been equally molded by keeping himself up to date with his clubbing experiences in and around London. The fusion of both has culminated in a plethora of musical, vocal trance anthems.

....fades away
....fades away
....fades away
red sea, red sky, red sun rising,
wait for white, on white sand,
blue sea, blue sky, high white sun,
haaayaa, hayaaa, nayaha, nahyaha, ayaahaa ayaahaa, ayahaaa
Until forever ....
Until forever ....
Until forever fades away
haaayaa, hayaaa, nyaha, nahyaha, ayaahaa ayaahaa, ayhaaa
haaayaa, hayaaa, nyaha, nahyaha, ayaahaa ayaahaa, ayhaaa
red sea red sky, red sun rising,
wait for white, on white sand,
blue sea blue sky, high white sun,
white but high, in the blue sky
red sea red sky, red sun rising,
wait for white, on white sand,
blue sea blue sky, high white sun,
white but high, in the blue sky
haaayaa, hayaaa, nyaha, nahyaha, ayaahaa ayaahaa, ayhaaa
Until forever fades away
...fades away
Until forever fades away
....fades away
Until forever fades away
The lyrics to Lost Witness's song Red Sun Rising describe a serene and peaceful scene of a red sea and sky with a rising sun. The repetition of the colors emphasizes the beauty of the scene, while the wait for white on the white sand highlights the anticipation and hopefulness of experiencing this beauty. The use of "haaayaa," "nayaha," and "ayahaaa" suggest a tribal or spiritual element to the song, as if the singer is calling out to a higher power or celebrating the natural world. The distant and dreamy repetition of "Until forever fades away" at the end of the song adds to this mystical feel, suggesting that the beauty of the scene is fleeting and unattainable.
Overall, the lyrics to Red Sun Rising convey a sense of wonder and awe towards the natural world, and a longing to experience its beauty. The repetition of colors and mystical chanting add to the song's dreamy and spiritual atmosphere.

I thought it was about time to replace the old digital upload with the vinyl here. I still love all of those Lost Witness releases from back then just as much today in 2021. They may be seen as commercial, mainstream etc, but I couldn't care less myself. The remixes from Lange, Angelic etc remain brilliant IMO even after a million plays. Sign of a true classic for me ❤️

Some mild tunes have their place, if you listen to a throbbing stomper whilst driving you end up doing 100 mph without realising it.
