Louis Armstrong Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Can anyone explain the thrill of a kiss?
No! No! No!
But when two eager lips are pressed against yours
You'll know, yes, you'll know

Can anyone explain the glow of romance?
No! No! No!
But when you hear the phrase "It's you I adore"
You'll know, yes, you'll know

And you will find, to give love a start
Don't think with your mind; just feel with your heart

Can anyone explain the wonder of love?
No! No! No!
But now that you and I are sharing a sigh
We know, yes, we know

And you will find, to give love a start
Don't think with your mind; just feel with your heart

Can anyone explain the wonder of love?
No! No! No!

But now that you and I are sharing a sigh
We know, yes, we know

Overall Meaning

The song "No" by Louis Armstrong explores the mysterious nature of love and the difficulty of putting into words the feelings that love evokes. In the first verse, Armstrong asks if anyone can explain the thrill of a kiss or the glow of romance, and responds with a resounding "No!" However, he goes on to state that when these experiences happen, you will know and feel them deeply.

The chorus of the song emphasizes the idea that love cannot be explained; it must be felt. The lyrics suggest that to give love a chance, you must let go of rational thinking and allow yourself to feel with your heart. The final verse speaks directly to the listener, suggesting that now that they are sharing a sigh with someone special, they too know the wonder of love.

The song's simple melody and repetitive chorus create a nostalgic and dreamy atmosphere, while the lyrics paint an idealized picture of love that feels both distant and attainable. Overall, "No" is a love song that captures the uncertainty and magic of falling in love.

We have all the time in the world
Time enough for life
To unfold all the precious things
Love has in store

We have all the love in the world
If that's all we have you will find
We need nothing more

Every step of the way
Will find us
With the cares of the world
Far behind us

We have all the time in the world
Just for love
Nothing more, nothing less
Only love

Every step of the way
Will find us
With the cares of the world
Far behind us, yes

We have all the time in the world
Just for love
Nothing more, nothing less
Only love

Only love

@@jmemphis5842 Obviously you dont understand the term "debonair"
Bond IS Brosnan or Roger Moore.
You want some stone face killer type, go watch a Mission Impossible or Jason Bourne flick!!

You're a fun killer otherwise!
I dont need a REALISTIC Bond!
I want a SMART Bond who doesn't have to climb up scaffolding to reach his target and ends up having the bigger hand regardless of the situation.

No offense, but I have the Fleming novels, Bond is written very specific

@@edouardmoulin1269 "Bond will return". Exactly. Mathilde Bond.

What Craig thinks means nothing to the woke cult that controls Hollywood. And natural behavior of children neither.
The whole theme of the movie was "Out with the old white man. In with the new agenda".

Sadly it will take one or two failed movies, before EON and MGM either "Get woke go broke", or somehow resurrect James Bond.

I could see all the Danial Craig movies be a bad dream that the next James Bond wakes up from, laying next to a beautiful Bond girl, in a luxury apartment filled with little symbols and easter-eggs, that would hark all the way back to Casino Royal, and explain how his subconscious mind created this dream/nightmare.
The Danial Craig movies are basically one long story.

Though are do think Danial Craig was a brilliant Bond, the ending ruined his Bond-era.

@cchang950141

This song belongs to OHMSS which has rich debonair flavor. It seems not that fitting into Craig’s hard edge portrait of Bond.

@sallymullins1328

@@cchang950141 it's a lovely homage for those of us who are old enough to remember. ❤️❤️❤️😺😺

@@sallymullins1328 Indeed! It brought us back to a past time. I cried then, as a boy, I cried again as a man. I still have the vinyl of the OHMSS soundtrack.

I’m 44 and took my 18 year old daughter (who is a big James Bond fan) to see this last year ..at the end of film she looked at me with tears in her eyes and said ..”But he was my James Bond”..and I gave her a Big hug , it’s funny how a motion picture can effect people in different ways but it’s a moment I will remember with my daughter forever!

@NBSLSwim175

As a 17 year old, I agree with ur daughter. Craig was my Bond, gritty, dark, charming, everything you could want out of a Bond. “ you have all the time in the world.” Can’t imagine Bond without him

@mdrawl

How precious these moments become a thread in the fabric of who we truly are. I'm so happy for your moment.

Really gonna miss Daniel Craig as 007 .😥
That's a fitting & very beautiful song to send Commander Bond off .
