I am teaching a small group of students about Calypso. It's been extremely interesting, and I have found a great liking to it. I teach Musical Theater style singing, so this is very different, but I LOVE what I am hearing and learning. I am grateful for those who spent the time recording and writing about this culture and music!

Great, great folk song.....I remember that indefatigable Olive Walke and her La Petite Musical singing this song...... Long before the Lydians and the Love Movement Choirs we had the famous La Petite Musical.....and boy or boy did we enjoy all their beauitful renditions. Actually when the Prime Minister's Best Village competition started waaay back in the 60's many of these folk songs were sung. Absolutely great hearing the instrumental version.

This was made even more popular by the Olive Walke La Petite Musicale.Group. They sang the words to it. I heard that a lot as a child growing up. I am now 60 yrs (going on 61 yrs).
