1. a Swedish st… Read Full Bio ↴There are at least three bands/acts called Lowrider:
1. a Swedish stoner rock band
2. a soul band from Adelaide, Australia
3. a side project, stylized as LowRider, by Paul Van Bruystegem, bassist of Belgian band, Triggerfinger
1. Lowrider (Sweden)
Lowrider is a Swedish stoner rock band, formed in the mid-1990s by bassist/singer Peder Bergstrand and lead guitarist/singer Ole Hellquist, along with guitarist Niclas Stalfors and drummer Andreas Eriksson.
Lowrider released the Nebula/Lowrider Double EP in 1999 together with ambassadors of psychedelic stoner rock, Nebula, who had just come into existence after their members departed from Fu Manchu. The EP was released in time for the beginning of Lowrider's European tour in 2000, when they played fourteen venues in eight different countries, co-headlining with Dozer and once with Spiritual Beggars [1]. Their debut album Ode to Io was released the same year and unleashed a controversy regarding their musical influences. Opinion in the media was divided, as although they gained critical praise from some (hailed as "Sweden's answer to all that is rocky, funky, gritty and downright rock n' roll." by Critical Metal), others dismissed them, with the ever-influential Kerrang! awarding them the "Most Convincing Kyuss Clones Award" ([2]).
After a 20 years hiatus, they came back in 2020 with a new album, "Refractions".
2. Lowrider (Australia)
Emerging onto the Adelaide music scene in late 2003, the foursome met through the city's tight knit music community after playing in different bands. Brothers Paul and John Bartlett aka Papa John and Mr Cee, teamed with Scott Duncan aka Scotty D and Joe Braithwaite to form Lowrider.
Their distinct sound has been developed organically drawing from very diverse influences including Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, The Roots, Mos Def and Erykah Badu. Lowrider will not conform to any genre or creed and have let their sound develop purely, leaving the onus on the listener to define what they are hearing. With smoothly delivered vocals over a simple ensemble of beats bass and keys, Lowrider's much anticipated album is an immaculate fusion of hip hop and soul and one of the best Australian releases of the summer.
Acclaimed local four-piece Lowrider make an emphatic return this February with their third studio album, ‘Black Stones’. Recorded throughout 2012 between the famed Red Bull Studios in Los Angeles and Chapel Lane Studios in Adelaide, the album presents a bold and exciting sonic progression for the band. To celebrate the release of ‘Black Stones’, Lowrider will take their renowned live show on the road, hitting a series of spots all across the east coast throughout March and April and kicking things off in their hometown of Adelaide on Saturday February 16th.
Since their debut release in 2008, Lowrider has embarked on an exciting transition from intimate hometown venues to sold-out national headline shows to coveted support slots on national tours for Alicia Keys, Lupe Fiasco and John Legend. Their 2010’s Round the World LP, earned them their first ARIA nomination, and saw them land on the national Big Day Out, Bluesfest and Pyramid Rock festivals. In 2012, the band headed to the US for highly acclaimed performances in LA and at Austin’s famed SXSW festival.
In 2013, Lowrider presented the fruit of their labour – ‘Black Stones’. For band members Joe, Scott, John and Paul, ‘Black Stones’ scraps any grand preconceptions and allows the undeniable chemistry between the four of them to take control. Simple, focused and proud.

3. LowRider (Belgium)
Paul Van Bruystegem, the bass player of Belgian rock band Triggerfinger, is also known as Monsieur Paul, Lange Polle, and (as of 2016) as LowRider. His début album is eponymous: LowRider (2016). This new side project features several musical styles and guest musicians. The first single of the album is a cross-over of hiphop and rock called 'Straight for the Sun', with guest vocals of the hiphop formation Zwartwerk.

Why do you just sit down and behave?
It's your choice now
(Go or stay)
'Cause you're heading for cloudy waters
Round the world we go
Oh darling lift your head
Ooh We're tryna catch the stars
Round the world we go
Oh Darling lift your head
Round the world we go
Ooh You'll be forever in debt to us
Oh come with me join the race
I'll do what I know you do the same
Don't be scared now
(It's OK)
Just keep your eye on the sky and higher
Round the world we go
Oh darling lift your head
Round the world we go
Ooh We're tryna catch the stars
Round the world we go
Oh Darling lift your head
Round the world we go
Ooh You'll be forever in debt to us
Round the world we go
To find a place called home
Round the world we go
Oh darling lift your head
Round the world we go
Ooh We're tryna catch the stars
Round the world we go
Oh Darling lift your head
Round the world we go
Ooh You'll be forever in debt to us
The lyrics of "Round the World" by Lowrider are a call to action, a message of encouragement to those who feel trapped or stuck in life. The opening lines question the listener's current situation and encourage them to break free from their metaphorical cage and take control of their destiny.
The chorus "Round the world we go, oh darling lift your head" is a rallying cry, urging the listener to look up and focus on the possibilities and opportunities that are waiting for them. The song speaks to the desire to explore, to experience the world and all it has to offer, and to not let fear hold you back from living your life to the fullest.
The repeated line "You'll be forever in debt to us" can be seen as a nod to the idea of living life on your own terms and not being beholden to the expectations or opinions of others. The song is an upbeat, infectious anthem that inspires a sense of adventure and the desire to break free from routine and explore the world.
Overall, "Round the World" is a powerful message of hope and encouragement, with its positive and uplifting lyrics serving as a reminder that we have the power to shape our own destiny and that anything is possible if we believe in ourselves and stay focused on the path ahead.

Ride the breeze, stitch capes from clouds, So her dreams out in front of her and chase em down, And escapin now, she found clear enough, But ain't nothin you can miss more than somethin never expierenced with, wait on hold and stand in line, Tryin to slow down the years by hanging from the hands of time, but can't wind it back, Now theres a room for thought, why don’t you dine on that, Why don’t you dine on that (dine on that), Why don’t you dine on that, Oh lala lalalala
