Grabeel was born in Springfield, Missouri on November 23, 1984, to Stephen Grabeel and Jean Harman.[1] He attended Logan-Rogersville elementary, middle and high school before transferring to and graduating from Kickapoo High School in Springfield in 2003. He also played drums for a local church and initiated a men's a cappella singing group at Kickapoo High school. He can also play the guitar and accordion; and can dance in the styles of jazz, ballet, hip-hop and tap.[2] While in Rogersville, Missouri, he regularly attended Harmony Baptist Church, where he was a part of the children’s and youth groups.[3]
Following graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to become an actor. Two months after moving from home to L.A., Grabeel landed his first TV role in a commercial for toothpaste, and then eventually went to star in other commercials for Legos and Hot Wheels, and soon after, he landed his first film role in the third instalment of the Halloweentown series; the Disney Channel Original Movie: Halloweentown High as the character Ethan Dalloway. He reprised his role in the fourth instalment, Return to Halloweentown. Grabeel was also in Alice Upside-Down starring as Alice's(Alyson Stoner's) brother Lester.

His biggest, and his best known, role was playing the part of Ryan Evans, the fraternal twin brother of Sharpay Evans (played by Ashley Tisdale), in the Emmy Award-winning made-for-television Disney movie High School Musical. He reprised his role in the sequels High School Musical 2 and the motion picture High School Musical 3: Senior Year. In 2007, he joined co-stars Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman on the 51 date High School Musical: The Concert. In early 2009, Billboard believed that Grabeel and Tisdale’s track I Want It All should be nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category however, the song did not make the final shortlist.[4] During his time in High School Musical, Grabeel (along with his co-stars) had a total of six tracks chart in the Billboard Hot 100.[5][6][7][8] Furthermore, he and Tisdale are the first artists to début in the Billboard Hot 100 with two simultaneous new entries in one week.[9]

In 2006, he was offered a guest role on an episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody but when the script called for him to kiss co-star Ashley Tisdale, the role went to High School Musical co-star, Zac Efron, due to Grabeel and Tisdale’s brother-sister dynamic established in High School Musical. Outta My Head
Lucas Grabeel Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'm all alone, my dreams are dead.
So scared 'cuz I don't crave to be a bat, live in a cave.
This sudden destiny, has got it's teeth in me.
Lost, boy, what can I do? 'Cuz just one kiss means the death of you.
Chorus:
I can't get you out, get you outta my head,
Slaved to the blood that I crave instead,
I can't get you out, get you out, outta my head.
If I t-t-touch your lips you'll wind up dead.
Lost to the blood, that's the life I dread.
I can't get you out, get you out, outta my head.
I'm stuck in bloody jail,
Half a monster, and half a man.
Don't tell me what to do or I'll suck the life, right out of you.
This sudden appetite, it keeps me up at night.
Fighting to find the will, a cruel joke, be killed or kill.
Chorus:
I can't get you out, get you outta my head,
Love is cursed, now I'm worse than dead.
Slaved to the blood that I crave instead.
I can't get you out, get you out, outta my head.
If I t-t-touch your lips you'll wind up dead.
Lost to the blood that's the life I dread.
I can't get you out, get you out, outta my head.
I can't believe this is happening, I can't believe that it's true.
I can't believe this is happening, to me, to you.
I can't believe this is happening, to one to love for all time.
To find a girl to rescue few, risk it all, risk it all to be mine!
Chorus:
I can't get you out, get you outta my head.
Love is cursed, now I'm worse than dead.
Slaved to the blood that I crave instead.
I can't get you out, get you out, outta my head (I can't get you out)
If I t-t-touch your lips, you'll wind up dead.
Lost to the blood that's the life I dread.
I can't get you out, get you out (can't get you)
I can't get you out, get you out (can't get you)
I can't get you out, get you out out outta out, outta my head!
The lyrics of Lucas Grabeel's "Outta My Head" describe the inner turmoil and struggle of a vampire who is trapped in a constant battle between his love for a human and his insatiable thirst for blood. He feels alone, trapped in a dark place within his own mind, haunted by his own desires. He is afraid of losing control and harming the person he loves, yet he cannot resist the temptation of her blood. The chorus repeats the theme of being unable to escape these conflicting emotions and desires, feeling cursed and helpless.
The vampire's dilemma is a metaphor for the complexities of love and desire, and the dangers that come with being in a relationship. The power dynamics between the two characters are also explored, as the vampire struggles with his desire to dominate and control his love interest, but is ultimately powerless to resist his biological urges. The imagery of blood and death serve as reminders of the stakes at play, and the danger that comes with being in love with a creature who is not quite human.
Overall, "Outta My Head" is a haunting and introspective song that delves into the darker aspects of human nature, desire, and the struggle for control.
