The band was founded in 1994 by Hirax (guitars) and was originally called "Bestialit" before changing to the current "Lunatic Gods" in 1996. Main themes are life, death, feelings, politics and protest.

They have released 5 full-length albums.

In February 2007 The vocalist Horár died.
