Lustans Lakejer hade a semi sucessful comeback in 1999 with their retrospective album Åkerberga and is yet again playing in 2007 and will participate in the national swedish Song Contest, competing to represent Sweden in the European Song Contest.
Their music is a swedish version of new romantic surfacing out of the new wave/ny våg, and can be compared to groups such as Ultravox, Japan (the third album was produced by Richard Barbieri), Duran Duran and Roxy Music. They have been described as Sweden's foremost synth group even though they were distinctly synth oriented in just a short period, much under the influence of Tom Wolgers joining the band in 1981. The 1982 remake of Diamanter from the 1980 debut single is one of the major swedish synth classics ever.
Frontmen Johan Kinde and Tom Wolgers have had several other projects and made some solo works.

The lyrics to Lustans Lakejer's song Stormen depict a person who wakes up in their gaming room and sees the object of their desire, but at a cost to their heart. The cost is the endless yearning for more of this person. When asked about their occupation, they reply that they are a drinker and have hurt those who have loved them and allowed themselves to be hurt. The song further explores the singer's childhood, where they stayed up at night, and saw their father's fear when he saw them. The fear seemingly mirrored their own.
The chorus makes a reference to the storm that never burns out and how one must harden oneself to bear it. The song then highlights the fact that the singer has seen several young men go through the same darkness as they strive for happiness and success. The solo talks about a past love that might not love them back anymore. However, in the end, the singer and their object of desire become one, and they cannot stay still. The chorus ends with a reminder that those who bear the storm must endure.
Overall, the song speaks of a person craving something that they know is not right for them, and the self-destructive habits that they have formed in order to deal with it.
