1) Lydia is a two-piece (formerly six) indie rock group from Gilbert, Arizona.
Lydia started out in 2003 as a five piece band: Leighton Antelman (Lead Vocals and Guitar), Steve McGraw (Guitar), Maria Sais De Sicilia (Backup vocals and Keyboard), Dustin Forsgren (Bass), and Loren Brinton (Drums). Their debut album, This December; It's One More and I'm Free was released on September 27th, 2005 with the HourZero Records.
Their sophomore album, Illuminate, featured a new line-up: Evan Aranbul replaced Forsgren, Mindy White replaced Sais De Sicilia, and Craig Taylor replaced Brinton; a second guitarist, Ethan Koozer, was also added. Illuminate garnered extremely positive reviews and gained the band increased recognition. They toured extensively throughout the country and participated in the Zumiez Couch Tour, Vans Warped Tour, and The Bamboozle festival. They also played on the first annual Bamboozle Roadshow in 2008. In 2009, the band released an acoustic EP of 4 re-recorded songs off of "This December" titled Hotel Sessions.
Their final release, 7 track EP "Assailants", came out in 2010. Lead vocalist Leighton Antelman embarked on a solo project with an album planned for 2011, due to be produced by Matt Malpass. He has also stated that drummer Craig Taylor will continue to work with him. Mindy White formed States with Bryan & Stephen Laurenson of Copeland. Ethan Koozer is currently playing guitar for the New Jersey-based band Gates which contains former members of Bears & Bright Lights. Steve McGraw has formed a new band called The Saturn Hands.
In late May of 2011 Leighton announced that Lydia would put out a new record to be produced by Matt Malpass. Leighton hasn't announced a release date but he acknowledged that it should be expected in mid to late fall of 2011. Leighton and Matt also collaborated on their own project named The Cinema. Leighton tracked and recorded the album throughout June and July and will be mastered by Matt after. They will be producing this album on their own similarly to Assailants.

Watching colors in the snow
You were laughing at me in your sleep
All wrapped up inside these sheets
Tell me you love me like you used to, yeah, well
Tell me you love me like you used to, yeah
Talking that shit like you don't love to
I'm rolling down that fire road like a stone
You're just my favorite motherfucker I know
Let's drink a few more 'til this house is a home
I'm thinking you do it well, you do it well
Until the sunlight, hey
(Until the sunlight), hey
(Until the sunlight), hey
(Until the sunlight)
You do it well, yeah
Until the sunlight
Got your picture in my bag
Couple them nights we went too fast
Yeah, you rule it
Yeah, you foolish
Yeah, you knew this
Keep it low, yeah, keep it low
Tell me you love me like you used to, yeah, well
Tell me you love me like you used to, yeah
Talking that shit like you don't love to
Said you do it well, you do it well
I'm rolling down that fire road like a stone
You're just my favorite motherfucker I know
Let's drink a few more 'til this house is a home
I'm thinking you do it well, you do it well
Until the sunlight, hey
(Until the sunlight) hey
(Until the sunlight) hey
(Until the sunlight)
You do it well, yeah
Until the sunlight
Tell me you love me like
Tell me you love me
Tell me you love me like you used to
I'll tell you I love you like
Tell you I love you
Tell you I love you like I want to
Well, ain't you looking good where you stand
Yeah, while that snow was falling over your head
So you opened up your mouth, let 'em in
I'm thinking you do it well, yeah (yeah, I know, I know, I know)
I'm rolling down that fire road like a stone
You're just my favorite motherfucker I know
Let's drink a few more 'til this house is a home
I'm thinking you do it well, you do it well
Until the sunlight, hey
(Until the sunlight), hey
(Until the sunlight), hey
(Until the sunlight)
You do it well, yeah
Until the sunlight
In Lydia's song "Sunlight," the lyrics describe a nostalgic and intimate moment between two individuals. The opening lines depict a cozy scene of being wrapped up in sheets and watching the colors in the snow while one person laughs in their sleep. This setting conveys a sense of warmth and closeness between the two individuals.
The repetition of the lines "Tell me you love me like you used to" and "You do it well" indicates a longing for the past and for the affirmation of love from the other person. Despite any challenges or conflicts ("Talking that shit like you don't love to"), there is a desire to recapture the love and connection that once existed between them.
The references to rolling down a fire road like a stone and drinking until the house feels like a home suggest a sense of freedom and comfort in each other's presence. The imagery of traveling down a road and the act of drinking together can symbolize a journey and shared experiences that make their bond stronger.
The repeated refrain "Until the sunlight" signifies a sense of perseverance and hope for brighter days ahead. The lyrics also touch on vulnerability, with lines like "Tell me you love me" and "I'll tell you I love you," conveying a mutual desire for emotional honesty and understanding between the two individuals. Overall, the song captures a mix of longing, nostalgia, and a desire to strengthen the connection between the two people depicted in the lyrics.
