Heart on My Sleeve
Lyle Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I wear my heart on my sleeve,
I'm not afraid to say what i mean,
Mean what i say.
I set myself up, let myself down,
I may be a fool to spread it around.
But i just wanna let you know,
Sometimes i find it so hard not to show,
So i sigh and i let my feelings go.

I wear my heart on my sleeve,
Don't count the cost,
If i can't live in love then surely i've lost.
You tend to get burned, tend to get bruised,
But it's my life whatever i choose.
Oh, i just wanna let you know,
Sometimes i, i find it so hard not to show,
So i sigh and i let my feelings go.

I wear my heart on my sleeve,
I wear my heart on my sleeve.
You tend to get burned, tend to get bruised,
But it's my life whatever i choose.
Oh, i just wanna let you know,
'Cause sometimes i find it so hard not to show,
So i sigh, but, baby, you're not alone.

You wear your heart on your sleeve,
You wear your heart on your sleeve.
I wear my heart on my sleeve,
I wear my heart on my sleeve.

I wear my heart on my sleeve,
I wear my heart on my sleeve,
I wear my heart on my sleeve,
Mm, my heart on my sleeve,

Baby, you know, i wear my heart on my sleeve,
Oh, my heart on my sleeve.

You wear your heart on your sleeve,
I wear my heart on my sleeve.

Did anyone notice the EMI-2001 camera in the corner bottom /left at 00:06 in this video.
These were the "Bread and butter" camera's used by many TV stations in the UK
in the late 1960's all through the 1970's and right up until 1991
In the day's before we got "Stuff" and threw it away when it was just a Year old.
The ONLY reason the video looks "Granny" and "Washed out" is because it was recorded onto 2 inch quad video tape.
The quality of the film "Breaks down" as time goes by because it oxidizes.
The quality of this would have been MUCH MUCH better when it was first shown on BBC one in 1976..
The colour these EMI-2001 camera's used to produce was so natural and punchy.
Shame we can NEVER see just how good they were again... All of the film recorded by these will NOT be the same quality as when they were first recorded. Time will have oxidizes the video.

They had three fantastic songs in the 70s: Breakaway, I Wanna Stay With You, and this song. If you like this song you'll love the other two.
