Someone Somewhere
M.I.K.E. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I used to know her
But she's changed and left
And now she's just a stranger
I used to love her
And I think it isn't quite over

I don't know where she is right now
I don't know who she is right now
I don't know where she is right now
I don't know what to do now

She's just someone else
Somewhere else
She's just someone else
Somewhere else

And I'm drowning in all these memories
Every place seems so empty without her

Overall Meaning

In M.I.K.E.'s song "Someone Somewhere," the lyrics express a sense of longing for a person who has changed and left the singer's life. The song speaks of a past connection, acknowledging that there was a time when the singer knew and loved this person deeply. However, things have changed, and now the person feels like a stranger. The lyrics convey a feeling of confusion and uncertainty about the current state of this person's life.

The singer expresses a sense of loss and a lack of understanding of where this person is, who they have become, and what to do in response to the situation. The repetition of the lines "I don't know where she is right now" and "I don't know what to do now" showcases the singer's feelings of being lost and stuck in a state of limbo.

Furthermore, the chorus emphasizes the singer's realization that this person is now merely someone else, somewhere else. The reminiscence of memories and the feeling of emptiness in every place without her suggest that the singer still holds on to the emotional impact of this lost connection.

Overall, the lyrics of "Someone Somewhere" convey a mixture of longing, confusion, and a yearning for understanding in a situation where someone important has become a stranger and left a void in the singer's life.

This is the so-called GOLD vinyl, one of the highlights of the Belgian E.T.
Although I consider "Sunrise At Palamos" the number one work on that vinyl (and perhaps my favorite work of the Belgian icon), I fully understand its preference. Both sound very similar, they are timeless classics.
M.I.KE. is a legend, an idol, an inspiration!!!
