MU330's lineup has changed frequently, but the foundations of the band remained intact — Potthast, Diebold, Bell, and Moll.
The band is self-described as "psycho ska" and are known for their lively performances and a general ethic of fun and optimism. Their lyrics cover many topics, from racism to love songs to testicular cancer.
Tune Me Out
MU330 Lyrics

It's so romantic
You and me and your tv
We made dinner with candles
Bagles with lax
And we watched cops
I think I forgot
What your eyes look like
Turn it on and tune me out
You don't need intimacy
Turn it on and tune me out
You've got big screen tv
We sat hand in hand
I watched you watch your tv
You fell asleep to baywatch
Mitch saved babes as I watched the clock
I wonder are you dreaming
And should I keep believing
Do I mean more to you than
So much more to you than magnum
These lyrics are a sarcastic commentary on the modern-day relationship dynamics that have become centered around technology and media. The song is about a couple who spend their romantic evening watching television instead of spending quality time with each other. The lyrics suggest that the big screen TV is the only thing that matters to the partner, as they don't need intimacy or connection when they have their TV. The singer expresses their frustration and feelings of being ignored, wondering if they mean more to their partner than the shows they watch.
The opening line, "turn it on turn it on and tune me out," sets the tone of the song and highlights the central theme of ignoring real-life interactions in favor of media. The use of the words "romantic" and "candles" indicates that the couple wants to have a romantic dinner, but their attention is elsewhere. The mention of "cops" and "Baywatch" shows how the couple's lack of attention to each other has led them to spend their time watching mindless and trivial TV shows.
Overall, the song sheds light on the lack of real human interaction in modern relationships and questions the value people place on media and technology over the value of connecting with their partner.

Love the track, been a fan since the 90's--- first CentraSota (Central Minnesota) kid I knew of to dig skapunkrastafunk. Saw MU330 at the Quest Club (now adjacent to Target Field, home of the MN Twins) around '98, great set and awesome label. Must listen to their discography if you're a ska fan.

Doesn't matter now, I'm nearing 30, but when I was in high school, you were my favorite band. Still awesome. Never knew anything about you, just bought Chumps On Parade from some Borders at 15. First video I've ever seen from this song because I didn't have internet then, and have since forgotten until I drank a bunch of whiskey and needed to look it up, but not disappointed, ever. You guys rock, hope you're still around.

This just took me back to high school... man... good times!
