Embarking on their music odyssey in 2001, the enigmatic composer/producer team of Mad Soul Child (Chung Mookyung, Lee Sangyeol, Yang Chanwoo) deftly made their mark as the famous yet faceless hitmen targeted by Korea’s top music acts and advertising agencies.
After years of scoring impressive collaborations with K-Pop superstars (Jo Sungmo, Lee Hyori, Shinhwa) and primetime TV commercials (Etude Cosmetics, Samsung Mobile, SK Telecom), the studio wizards decided the time was right to remix and reinvent their concept.
Stepping out of the shadows and into the limelight, Mad Soul Child relaunched themselves in Spring 2009 as an eclectic, electro-house project band boasting a brand new lineup and a brand new album -- ‘La La La’.
With the sultry chanteuse, Jinsil, and the award-winning movie director, VJ Kwon, joining mixmaster DJ Chanwoo on stage, the amped and revamped Mad Soul Child rolled out one of the most outstanding artist debuts of the year. Nearly every song off their first album became soundtracks to Korea’s biggest TV ads and propelled by their sexy, stunning DVJ performances, the band swiftly took Seoul’s live music scene by storm.
As part of the first wave of Korean electronica acts going global via iTunes, Mad Soul Child will push their pulsating beats worldwide in Fall 2009 by representing Korea at the prestigious CMJ Music Marathon in New York City and promoting their upcoming single, ‘Wanna Play’, in Samsung Electronics’ European marketing campaign.
