Ball of Destruction
Madball Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And disrespect my family
You wanna judge the way I live
And you don't even know me
You'll never understand our hate
It doesn't matter anyway
Never understand our kind
Your words don't mean a thing to me
Your living in a fantasy
Now we have no more to say
We'll get about it our way
Game has gone far enough
And it's time we put it to an end
We're comin' out with all we got
Time is runnin' out fast
Adn you're the only one to blame
We're comin' out with all we got
You won't forget our name
The lyrics to Madball's song "Ball of Destruction" express a strong sense of pride and loyalty to family and friends, while rejecting any attempts to judge or disrespect their way of life. The opening line is a challenge to anyone who would attempt to cross Madball and their close ones. The following line, "And disrespect my family," reinforces the idea that Madball values those closest to them above all else. The third line, "You wanna judge the way I live," suggests that Madball feels judged by outsiders who don't understand their lifestyle.
The chorus highlights the main theme of the song, which is the band's sense of unity and fierce loyalty. It is their way of life, and they know that outsiders will never be able to understand their intense level of passion and commitment. The lyrics, "Never understand our hate, it doesn't matter anyway, Never understand our kind, try to disrespect what's mine," underscore the idea that outsiders will never be able to comprehend or appreciate what makes Madball unique.
The final lines of the song reiterate the band's dedication to their lifestyle, and the fact that they will continue to fight for what they believe in. The lyrics, "Time is runnin' out fast, And you're the only one to blame, We're comin' out with all we got, You won't forget our name," leave no doubt that Madball will do whatever it takes to protect their family and their way of life.

My review on Allmusic written January 9, 2016. 4 Stars
The debut release from Madball sounds closer to Agnostic Front than the sound they would grow into. Of course, this is not surprising since both Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma are in Madball on Ball Of Destruction. Miret plays bass while Freddy handles the vocals. All that being said, it is a very solid slice of NY Hardcore. Ball Of Destruction was originally released as a 7" in 1989. It was later released on CD with plenty of bonus cuts, many live, in 1996. A critical release in the hardcore genre because it is Madball's first EP and it's pretty darn good!

Their best album.

I love that every time someone comments about Freddy's age, he gets younger. He was, after all, only 7 months old at the time of this recording.
