Turn Up the Radio
Madonna Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When the world starts to get you down
And nothing seems to go your way
And the noise of the maddening crowd
Makes you feel like you're going to go insane

There's a glow of a distant light
Calling you to come outside
To feel the wind on your face and your skin
And it's here I begin my story

Turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Don't ask me where I wanna go
We gotta turn up the radio

It was time that I opened my eyes
I'm leaving the past behind
Nothing's ever what it seems
Including this time and these crazy dreams

I'm stuck like a moth to a flame
I'm so tired of playing this game
I don't know how I got to this state
Let me out of my cage cause I'm dying

Turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Don't ask me where I wanna go
We gotta turn up the radio

Turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Don't ask me where I wanna go
We gotta turn up the radio

I just wanna get in my car
I wanna go fast and I gotta go far
Don't ask me to explain how I feel
'Cause I don't want to say where I'm going

Turn down the noise and turn up the volume
Don't have a choice cause the temperatures pounding
If leaving this place is the last thing I do
Then I want to escape with a person just like you

I'm stuck like a moth to a flame
I'm so sick and tired of playing this game
We gotta have fun it it's all that we do
Gotta shake up the system and break all the rules
Gotta turn up the radio until the speakers blow

Turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Don't ask me where I wanna go
We gotta turn up the radio

Turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
There's somethings you don't need to know
Just let me turn up the radio

Turn up the radio

Just let me turn up the radio
Just let me turn up the radio

Turn Up The Radio is a hidden masterpiece.

@hyenasridingbicycles

the song. not the video.

@LGH1847

The looks, the body, the voice, the talent. There may never be another one like her.

@mattbernabe

One of Madonna's best and underrated songs. Its my favorite song from the MDNA album. It's one of those songs that should have been a hit and had more radio time. It's fun and energetic. Wish she did more songs like this.

@pollutingpenguin2146

This is so underrated - I cannot believe we have reached a time where radio stations don't play Madonna?! I mean what the actual fuck?!

@prophetmadonna3744

be one less moron who is addicted to slapping the term under rated on everything that 97% of Humamity thought was cool.

@JoseFernandez-cd7ew

in my country there's a radio where Madonna plays a lot

"America has an expiration date on the sex symbols they create with thier time...she became a high strangeness fright" ....🦖☄

@bulltrunch

I agree. What the hell. I think the last album of songs they played was either Confession On The Dance Floor or Hard Candy. After that they never played any of her songs from MDNA, Rebel Heart or Madame X. What a shame.

I’m mean she’s the damn queen of pop.

@ladyhaha7548

@@bulltrunch Medellin was played on the radio lol. But yeah, MDNA and Rebel Heart didn't get any radio play. Im sad especially for Rebel Heart cause its an ICONIC and awesome album (justice for Ghosttown ಥ_ಥ)
