Ray Of Light
Madonna (Ciccone) Lyrics
Zephyr in the sky at night I wonder
Do my tears of mourning sink beneath the sun
She's got herself a universe gone quickly
For the call of thunder threatens everyone
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
Trying to remember where it all began
She's got herself a little piece of heaven
Waiting for the time when Earth shall be as one
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
Quicker than a ray of light
Quicker than a ray of light
Quicker than a ray of light
Zephyr in the sky at night I wonder
Do my tears of mourning sink beneath the sun
She's got herself a universe gone quickly
For the call of thunder threatens everyone
And I feel
Quicker than a ray of light
Then gone for
Someone else will be there
Through the endless years
She's got herself a universe
She's got herself a universe
She's got herself a universe
And I feel
And I feel
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
Quicker than a ray of light she's flying
Quicker than a ray of light I'm flying

โRay of Lightโ
[Verse 1]
Zephyr in the sky at night, I wonder
Do my tears of mourning sink beneath the sun?
She's got herself a universe gone quickly
For the call of thunder threatens everyone
[Chorus]
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
[Verse 2]
Faster than the speeding light she's flying
Trying to remember where it all began
She's got herself a little piece of heaven
Waiting for the time when Earth shall be as one
[Chorus]
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
[Post-Chorus]
Quicker than a ray of light
Quicker than a ray of light
Quicker than a ray of light
[Verse 3]
Zephyr in the sky at night, I wonder
Do my tears of mourning sink beneath the sun?
She's got herself a universe gone quickly
For the call of thunder threatens everyone
[Middle 8]
And I feel
Quicker than a ray of light, then gone for
Someone else will be there
Through the endless years
[Outro]
She's got herself a universe
She's got herself a universe
She's got herself a universe
And I feel
And I feel
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
Quicker than a ray of light, she's flying
Quicker than a ray of light, I'm flying

@Frodo T. Baggins you're welcome Frodo. You'll understand when you're older. Nostalgia is the closest thing to magic when you get old.

Iโm now 50 and this song was released when I was 28, life is quicker than a ray of light. Sad and happy.

@Thomas JR. I can completely relate; I was young at the time too and couldn't see the "handwriting on the wall." If I could have seen the early warning signs I should've quit before they fired me and would've been better off. There was a lot of turmoil in that workplace and they were looking to make an example of someone. The woman who falsely reported me didn't like that I had seniority over her and some other friends of hers, and they knew I was going to be bidding on another position. She then had to stick to her story because if she would've recanted it in any way they could've fired her for false information. There's nothing worse than being accused of something you didn't do or intend to do, and worse yet you aren't allowed to tell your side of things either... all they say is "it doesn't matter" and "the decision has been made." When I was in the military (Air Force) I listened to a lot of new recruits complain and wish they were out in the "civilian world," but the civilian world is totally unfair and it's all about favoritism, whereas military is all about rank which you earn. I've heard that in Europe a person "can't lose their job," which I had to wonder if was really true. A friend of mine his mother is from Germany and she said that is true; you can't lose your job unless you do something really terrible like kill someone (then you'd be in jail anyway). Taxes are high in Europe, but health care, college education are free plus job security. To me that's worth higher taxes. In the United States if you are lucky enough to get a GOOD job you have to pay the government for the "right to work" (income taxes) but then they can't even help protect people's jobs
