Crisis and Bitche's

organiza esa rabia y dale formas mejores
The lyrics of Mafalda's song "Crisis" and Bitche's are a commentary on the deep social and economic issues that plague modern Spain. The opening line "Soy una pelota y España es un agujero, hijos de la gente que por ser libres murieron, soy una botella medio llena de benceno" is symbolic of the current economic situation. It invokes the image of a ball rolling into a hole (debt), the children of the country's martyrs (who died fighting for freedom) and a bottle filled with dangerous chemicals that can pose a threat to life.
The song then calls the people out for their complacency, urging them to take an active role in understanding their own identity and the situation around them. The line "espera sentado borrego, espera que pase la crisis, espero que entiendas quién eres sin Wifi" speaks of how people are just waiting for the crisis to pass, without taking any action themselves. It also highlights the fact that people are so reliant on technology (Wifi) that they must learn to live without it to truly understand themselves.
The song then goes on to criticize the government, the banking system, and corporations, holding them accountable for the financial crisis. The lines "dinero sangre y bonos del estado, aunque pidan perdón arrodillados, golpea duro en el costado con el dolor de todos los desahuciados" are a scathing critique of these entities. They state that the money that they use for their business is from the people's suffering, and that they should be held accountable for their actions.
