Magic Dirt have released 8 albums and 3 EPs during their career, balancing a fine line between improvisational noise and alternative rock, and remaining a staple of influential radio station Triple J.
Dean Turner's death both shocked and united the entire Australian music industry. Following Turner's death Magic Dirt performed a final tour in honour of his memory. They also released a six-track EP, White Boy, as a tribute. As from 2011, the band is on hiatus with no immediate plans to tour or record. In March 2011, Adalita spoke about Magic Dirt when promoting her solo album, "No, no we've not retired. There's none of that at the moment. We're just taking some time off the road, but we do have some plans. We've got a lot of work to do, and a big legacy to fulfill".
Srsen has since embarked on a successful solo career and guitarist Raul Sánchez formed a new band, River of Snakes..
Supagloo
Magic Dirt Lyrics

You said no matter whatever
You said we'd stay together
And you told me just to remember
That I stick to you
Like supagloo
It doesn't matter you're no professor
You don't have to try to impress her
Just give in 'cause it's time to test it
And he'll stick to you
Like supagloo
You suffer from a fever
And still you know that you can't leave her
This time it's better than keepin'
A little book about all your schemin'
And she'll stick to you
Like supagloo
The lyrics to Magic Dirt's "Supagloo" describe the hope and struggle of a new and intense romantic relationship. The singer is told by their partner to remember that they will always stay together, and that they are inseparable like Supagloo, a brand of super-strong adhesive. The partner is not concerned with impressing others or trying to be a "professor," because their love for each other is all that matters. The singer is urged to give in to this love, even if it is difficult to confess, because it is time to test it. Despite suffering from a fever, the singer knows they cannot leave their partner and that their love is better than merely keeping a "little book about all your schemin'." The partner will stick to the singer like Supagloo.
There is a sense of desperation and fear in these lyrics, as the singer seems to be clinging to this intense romance even though they may have doubts or concerns. The mention of a "little book" suggests that the singer may have a history of being manipulative or deceitful in relationships, which adds another layer of complexity to the song. However, the overall message is one of love and commitment, even in the face of uncertainty and hardship.
