Majid Jordan Lyrics

Fifty bands later you the one I want
Hundred bands later you the one I want
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Hundred and fifty bands later you the one I want
Two hundred bands, baby, you the one I want
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)

I, I got it now, yeah, yeah, got it now
Yeah, I prayed for fifties but now I throw hundreds now
Yeah, at first you was likey-likey now you love it now
First I was touchy-touchy now I'm touching down like (oh-oh-oh, oh)
I don't think they understand
I don't think they understand
I don't tell 'em 'bout our plans (no, oh-oh-oh)
Don't tell left-hand 'bout the right hand
Don't show your colors 'less it's vibrant
All real bitches move in silence, oh

Fifty bands later you the one I want
Hundred bands later you the one I want
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Hundred and fifty bands later you the one I want
Two hundred bands, baby, you the one I want
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)

Used to bus to class
Now I'm on first class
Champagne in my glass (oh-woah, oh)
Look at what we did
Young and restless with
Millions here to spend
On the Late Show
Ready now
Yeah, yeah, they love me now
They hit me up but I give 'em the run around
Girl, you too heated I thought that I told ya to simmer down?
She wants to know if I'm ready, I'm ready to see her now
Why would I say no?
I say I'm close
I'll let you know
So let me come by and love me down, down, down, down

'Cause even fifty bands later you the one I want (one I want)
Hundred bands later you the one I want (one I want)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Hundred and fifty bands later you the one I want (one I want)
Two hundred bands, baby, you the one I want (want)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)

(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)

The lyrics talk about how money isn't everything and that the person they want is worth more than any amount of money. The repetition of "fifty bands later," "hundred bands later," and so on, shows the person's journey towards finding the one they want. At first, they were content with fifty bands, but as they continued their journey, they realized that they wanted more, and finally found what they were looking for after two hundred bands.

In the second verse, the lyrics talk about the changes the person has gone through from taking the bus to class to flying first class and drinking champagne. They also mention the millions they have to spend, showing that they have achieved success. However, despite their success, they still choose to move in silence and not reveal their plans or show their true colors unless it is vibrant.

Heard them on Ballers, thought it was a one-off, but now I like everything they do. They have great hooks and musicality, the mood is funky, sexy soulful and smooth. Wish everything was a bit longer. Sweet vocals too.

I get why a lot of people want them to "blow up", but they're still pretty popular on the low. I tried to get tickets to a Majid Jordan concert when they came to Montreal but couldn't bc it was all sold out in really short period of time. You don't need to hit Drake numbers in views and sales if you're a music artist, as long as you're able to sell tickets and go on tour and have creative control over your music, that's success enough. Besides, there are enough venues across the world supporting non mainstream music acts, just compare a bunch of indie artists' tour lists and you'll see the same cities pop up. PND and MJ are doing just fine.

@Rdizzle512

Abi yeah but here in the states they are not that popular. Here in austin tx his tickets were cheap (20) and they played at like a club not at an event center so they still have alot more growing to do
