1. María 'Malú' Lucía Sánchez (born 15 March, 1982) is a singer from Madrid, Spain. Malú was discovered at the age of 15 when she was singing at a family party. She began the recording of her first album Aprendiz in January 1998. Malú is the niece of the flamenco singer-songwriter Paco de Lucía.
2. Malu is a pop singer from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. There is no accent on the letter 'u', but scrobbles of her songs end up here due to Last.fm's infamous auto-correct. "Sensual vocals, soft synthesizers and danceable bass lines bring you into a summery state of mind (...) one moment in a fantasy, the next on the dance floor." Malu released her first brace of singles and the Rendez-vous EP on Excelsior Recordings in 2023.

When MALU was five years old, two movers coincidently came by her childhood home, in Denmark, with a piano, they were supposed to get rid of. She was immediately glued to it, and from there the train began rolling. The journey started as a classical pianist and led her to lead singer in a jazz trio, a disco band and a soul orchestra, with concerts around the country and the feeling of belonging on a stage from a very early age.

The lyrics of Malú's song Agua De Mayo are about being completely devoted to someone and clinging to them as the source of all strength and hope. The singer feels sold to this person, surrendering to their embrace, even if it may seem like a serious matter. She believes that his lips are the cure for her pain and will bring her healing. The singer even says that if she were to die loving him, she would do so without losing her sense of morality because it would be a beautiful death. Furthermore, she believes that by his side, she can be reborn from this death.
The singer goes on to express her indebtedness to this person for having made her life worth living. She asks for hope of being able to kiss him even when she lacks breath and for his love and "agua de mayo", which could translate to "May Water" but in this context is probably a metaphor for something that feeds and sustains like water in the spring. She says that her chest is stronger than a thunderbolt, but if he should ever leave her, she wants him to take her out to sea with him. Towards the end, Malú sings about how she wandered the world as though homeless and searching for something until she finally found this person. She tells him that, though she may be a foreigner without a place to call her own, he is where she wants to die, in his arms.
Overall, the song expresses deep, passionate love and the dependence one person can have on another, as well as a willingness to face death rather than being without the loved one. It is a beautiful ballad with a melancholic tone.
