Caught up in feelin' like you've been let down
You're on the outside round the outside (stand up, stand up)
You always feel it but you don't see how you're on the outside
Come put your hands up (hands up)
Cause if you're tired of the blame, tired of the shame
Can you hear a voice calling?
What can you do, but start kicking too
Make your mark on this world of ours, you're not just some shitkicker
Grab all those feelings now with both those hands
Come on the inside from the outside (stand up stand up)
Lose all those demons that you don't need now you're on the inside
Come put your hands up (hands up)
Cos if you're tired of the blame tired of the shame
Can you hear a voice calling?
What can you do but start kicking too
Go ask any cowboy, how many arrows does it take out in the battle?
Malakai's song "The Battle" is a call to action for those who have felt let down by life and find themselves on the outside looking in. The lyrics encourage listeners to take charge of their lives, confront their demons, and fight back against negativity. The song begins with a reference to a dance called the "shitkicker," which is a nod to country line dancing. The song then moves into the theme of feeling rejected and how it can be difficult to see a way out of that feeling. Malakai encourages listeners to put their hands up and take control of their lives. The chorus repeats the idea that if you're tired of feeling blamed and shamed, it's time to start kicking and fighting back.
The second verse emphasizes the importance of making your mark in the world and not being satisfied with just existing. Malakai urges listeners to seize their feelings and take control of their lives, allowing them to come in from the outside and let go of their demons. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus and a powerful final line: "Go ask any cowboy, how many arrows does it take out in the battle?"
Overall, "The Battle" is a song about empowerment and taking control of your life. It highlights the importance of perseverance and fighting back against negativity. Its catchy beat and relatable lyrics make it a powerful anthem for anyone who has ever felt like they were on the sidelines of life.
