In Cold Blood
Malevolent Creation Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

No chance for survival
spilling innocent blood
Cries of the undead
too deafening to ignore
Craving desire
Into the terror unknown
Never to live again
Life pulled inside out

There's no escape
from this addiction
Insanity
Acting inhuman
Fierce kisses bruise
Blue lips and white skin
Veins pump with fear
Flow for destruction
Blind stench of death
Warm blood on red hands
Now left to dead
motionless body
Have no remorse
Soulless obsession
Black heart of stone
Cold satisfaction

The hunter and the hunted
Killing for gain
Violence erupts
like sulfur to a flame
Into the heart of hell
Only life even known
Not afraid to die
Battle lines are drawn

There's no escape......
.....cold satisfaction

Allies in this war
have nothing to lose
Take life for game
Slaughter never ends
Allies in this war
their live force divine
Falling to their knees

The end of the line
In cold blod....

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Malevolent Creation's song In Cold Blood paint a vivid picture of brutal violence and bloodshed. The first verse describes a gruesome scene where innocent blood is being spilled and the cries of the dead are too overwhelming to ignore. The imagery of "life pulled inside out" is particularly jarring, suggesting that the violence witnessed is so horrific that it seems to invert the natural order of things. The second verse delves deeper into the mindset of the perpetrators, describing how they are driven by an addiction to violence and a desire for destruction. The lyrics paint a bleak picture of a world where there is no escape from this obsession, and where even allies in the war are eventually consumed by the violence they once profited from.

The chorus acts as a refrain, repeating the haunting phrase "there's no escape... cold satisfaction" twice to emphasize the cyclical nature of violence and how it seems to trap those who indulge in it. The final verse is perhaps the most poignant, suggesting that even those who profit from violence will eventually meet their end. The allies in the war may have nothing to lose, but they too will fall to their knees when confronted with the bloody consequences of their actions. The final line, "in cold blood," is a fitting coda to the song, underscoring the senseless and detached nature of the violence being depicted.

Chaz Hart

In my opinion, this is the band's best work. It is among my favorite death metal albums, along with Covenant, Pierced from Within, Realm of Chaos, and Hate.

Bittersweet Duality

If I were to rank all of their albums based on personal musical preferences I think I would put this one around the middle, but I do have to say this is probably the most balls-to-the-wall intense album in the catalog. Absolutely ferocious especially the drumming

Kommander696

Brutal hails for this incredible album and band. Derek Roddy on Drums for this album too. \m/

Miguel Ángel Araya
