In My Dreams
Malumi Lyrics

In my sleep
I've been here before
I've walked down this pathway
And I've knocked on this door
In this house
You and I were alone
The windows were rusty
And the grass overgrown
And the roses climbed
Like enchanted vines
Over the wall
And the roses climbed
You and I entwined
We had it all
In my dreams
I know you
I know you
In my dreams
I love you
I love you
In my dreams
Ah aah
Ah aah
In your arms
I could lie here all night
Under velvety skies
With the moon as our light
In this house
Where we're never apart
I can let go of fear
I can give you my heart
And the roses climb
Like enchanted vines
Over the wall
And the roses climb
You and I entwined
We have it all
In my dreams
I know you
I know you
In my dreams
I love you
I love you
In my dreams
Ah aah
Ah aah
And the roses climb
Like enchanted vines
Over the wall
And the roses climb
You and I entwined
Don't let me fall
In my dreams
I know you
I know you
In my dreams
I love you
I love you
In my dreams

Ah aah
Ah aah

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Malumi's "In My Dreams" describe a recurring dream that the singer has had. In this dream, the singer finds themselves in a house with someone they love, surrounded by overgrown nature and enchanting roses. This person is someone the singer knows and loves, and they feel safe and at ease in their presence. The dream provides a sense of comfort and security, a place where the singer can let go of fear and give their heart to this person. The enchanting roses symbolize the depth and beauty of the emotions shared between the singer and this person, while the vines climbing over the wall represent the strength and resilience of their bond.

The song's lyrics evoke a sense of nostalgia and longing for something that seems just out of reach. The recurring dream represents an idealized fantasy world for the singer, a place where they can find solace and peace. The dream also symbolizes the singer's desire to find a deep connection with someone, to be entwined with them as the roses climb over the wall.

Overall, "In My Dreams" is a beautiful ballad that speaks to the universal human desire for companionship and connection. It's a reminder that sometimes the most profound relationships can exist only in our dreams.

Hello - Sara and Klaire here! We noticed there have been quite a few comments about the lack of dancers in the video. We weren't going to talk about it, as we don't want to be unprofessional in any way, but as there are so many questions, we felt we should address it head on.

The dancers themselves, Wing and Wade, were absolutely phenomenal. In just a few minutes together in rehearsal, they choreographed a GORGEOUS dance, and executed it perfectly. They were nothing but fantastic and professional on the day, too, standing around for hours, in Wade's case in nothing but body paint, with simply fantastic attitudes. As dancers go, we hit the jackpot!

Tragically, when we saw the footage of the dance, we (Sara and Klaire) both felt that much of it was unusable, as, due to the way in which it was filmed, much of the background of the studio was in shot for a significant portion of the dance. The original video was supposed to barely feature us singing and focus on the dance sequence, but upon seeing the footage we felt, and two professional editors agreed, that we couldn't use all of it and still have the slick aesthetic we were hoping for.

By the time we realised this, we had committed to a firm release date and it was too close to the date to re-shoot the video.

The footage you see in the video is what we, and our editor, collectively felt was still useable. We are also gutted that the full impact of the beautiful dance was lost, but full disclosure, sometimes things go wrong behind the scenes and you have to make the best of what you have, even if it's not what you originally envisioned.

We're so touched by all the wonderful comments, and also by the comments wanting more Wing and Wade - we couldn't agree more. Watch this space as we will be showing their amazing dancing behind the scenes really soon.

Do you also know that in Africa, Nigeria to be precise, there is a whole Clan called called "Malumi" they from a royal lineage who happen to rule on an Island. Was Surprised when i saw this ladies bearing a name exactly like mine but not Africans.
