1. A misspelling and incorrect tag for the Icelandic band Mammút
2. German heavy band MAMMUT is nowadays a pure and absolute rarity in the lights of rock classic music; their only album is also a record rather impossible to track down, plus it excels as a fantastic jewel of heavy music, scorching composition and optical art. The music is close to the early classic expressions of progressive rock, showing besides that an empathy for strange visions, compact concepts, psychedelic hazes and fuzz-growing emotions.
The ensemble seems to be a fusion between former bands THE ROPE SET and THOSE, consisting of Klaus and Peter Schnur on lead guitars and lead vocals, Rainer Hoffmann on piano and organ, Tilo Herrmann as bassist, flutists and backing vocalist, and Günter Seier on drums and percussions. MAMMUT was, anyhow, raised within the Stuttgart jazz scene, the German rock ideals, the heavy and dark music inspiration conceptuality, plus within the howling feelings that make rock an explosive and exploratory art. Their work scored an unique private print in the Orschwahl label, but was quickly confronted with legal issues, and was re-licensed by Little Wing of Refugees. The same label problems emerged when “Mammut” was re-released, since it was withdrawn quickly, disappearing for good.
References drag this hard rock (of psych smokes) movement into Krautrock, given that it is a German classic scene music print. Sometimes, the references to EMBRYO or AMON DUUL bewilder beyond how the music’s strength mainly sounds like. The band had a special likeness for DEEP PURPLE, otherwise their main acid thrill had everything to do with the evolved giant lengths of Hard Rock, Hard Blues and Hard Psych. The particular slight references to Canned Heat, Tomorrow’s Gift or FRUMPY surface interestingly.
MAMMUT insightly plays heavy concept rock, with an entire arch sketched from the acoustic and lyrical breadths to the violently onirical and strangely (ec)static drone-like jams. The tangent values - that reflect pure psychedelism and concept composition, hard sounds manipulation or a bit of a symphonic crust - are of no surprise at all, they add up both an unusual complexity and a decisive precision of trembling rock, within the popular intense graphic. This music generally raises above the limits of pushy and grouchy music, even if its dust art is of an underground music satisfaction. The programmatic movement, creating completely different values of music within each piece (not superficial are all the tracks conceptualized under the word of “Mammut”), gives a plus in talented (or wildly erupted) music writing.

3. Mammut is a german band from Stade, Germany (Lower Saxony), which was founded in 2004. The band-members played in different bands like “Dustbin” and “Norman Bates Motel” before.
Mammut especially playes on live-concerts around Hamburg. They are known for their straight guitare-rock, mainly influenced by Thin Lizzy and Motorpsycho.

4) There is also a bolivian band named Mammut, their integrants used to be part of H3O until 2005.
Their self titled album premiered on 2007 with their first single Cada Día.
This Mammut, formed in early 2005, was founded by lifelong friends Diego Boulocq along with drummer Mauricio Moscoso and bassist Pablo Quiroga; bandmates who had previously played together in the nationally recognized Cochabamba-based band H3O (1998-2005).
At the early ages of 16 and 17, the members of H3O edited their first album aptly titled “Solos” (Alone), which had moderate success in the local scene and served as a starting point for a promising career nationwide. It wasn’t until their sophomore album “Anzuelo” (Hook), which was released in 2003, that H30 literally “hooked” the masses, flourished musically and were catapulted commercially, the latter thanks in large part to the unprecedented success of their single “Sr.Chichero”. That same year the band was recognized with a golden record due to the increasing sales of the album “Anzuelo” and a large amount of promotional singles that were on constant rotation throughout national radios.
On 2004 H30 was officially recognized as one of the biggest bands in Bolivia and continued winning several awards. Extensive touring for large audiences allowed the band to play alongside such industry heavyweights as Diego Torres and Los Auténticos Decadentes among others. The same year the band signed a contract with one of the largest beer companies in the country (Taquiña) to promote it’s product by writing and recording the promotional jingle as well as performing in an exclusive nationwide commercial to endorse the beer.
Also in 2004 Diego Boulocq and Mauricio Moscoso earn nominations for best leading vocals and best drummer in a band, respectively. The “Premios de la Concordia” awards also recognized H30’s effort by making them recipient of three awards, which were Breakthrough Artist, Band of the Year and Best Video for their single “Quédate”. By the end of the year the band had already released their third album (and first one recorded live) alongside their first DVD, which showcased an acoustic arrangement of most of their previously released songs, all performed in Cochabamba on October 2004.
Several commercial hits and jam-packed crowded performances after their foundation in 1998 H3O finally decide to bring an end to their careers in 2005 for several motives.
It was at this stage that the long foreseen and postponed project titled Mammut was officially conceived as a band by the remaining members of H3O; the main purpose being the full realization of the aforementioned bandmates’ potential, which translated into a more polished and modern sound. Halfway through 2005 the newborn Mammut independently began to work on their first album.
Recording of the self-titled debut album took place throughout 2006 by the hand of Mutante Studios’ owner and producer Cacho Romero, who actively participated in the co-production of the record. Currently the band is dedicating it’s time to promotional activities which include the release of the music video for their second single “Idiotizado”, which was directed by the critically acclaimed director Martin Boulocq. With these and many other activities in agenda, 2008 promises to be a fruitful year for Mammut.
