He is also a skater, which led to his career in hip hop; after an accident in 1998, he took time to focus on rap and was noticed by Trevor McNevan of Ontario-based band Thousand Foot Krutch. This led to his signing to an internationally distributed label, BEC Recordings, and debut release Epiphany, which was made primarily of West Coast hip hop with several rapcore outings in the vein of Limp Bizkit.
He released two independent albums, Mislead Youth (2001) and My Own Thing (2003), prior to Epiphany in 2005. He has toured in Canada, the United States and Ireland to date.
His second album, Glory, emphasized rap-rock elements with more Linkin Park-esque nu metal, and included more authentic hip hop stylings.
Central themes of Manafest's music include nonconformity, hip hop culture, and walking with God.
Manafest says in regards to Glory that: "I wanted to allow all of my influences show on Glory. Musically, I wanted to blend the appeal of Linkin Park, Sum 41, and The Beastie Boys. Vocally, I wanted to merge that with popular hip hop à la Eminem and Kanye West. But beyond musical influence, I wanted to reflect on the issues around me in the most positive way possible. And whether I am talking about the loss of loved ones and abuse, or breakdancing and skate culture, it's all for the glory of heaven. In the end, my prayer is that people would not simply bob their heads to this, but feel a very real sense of healing from the words. However, this record is not all serious. Some of my favorite tracks are the most lighthearted ones."

'Cause if you need a friend, or need a,
Or need a pal, or need a,
Or need a bro, or need a,
Or need to lean, or need to
Need to talk, or need to,
Need to call you can
You can lean on me when your feelings ain't strong,
You can lean on me when you go through the storm
You can lean on me when you're feelin' alone
Lean on me, lean on me
What's up homie, what you saying dawg, you feelin lonely?
What's the deal man, you don't call, don't you know me'
I know you're goin' through some issues and a thousand tissues
Just know your friends miss you it's not artificial
This is a call and my arm reachin' out to get you
Can't forget you, you's a leader from the day I met you
Taught me how to rhyme got me into God and I'm
Thankful for the times and memories they still alive
If you wanna talk or chill sometime hit me up I'm here awhile
If not I understand just know you got a friend
Bro are you out there' know that we all care,
Whether you're here or there, yo you're still in our prayers
You can lean on me when your feelings ain't strong,
You can lean on me when you go through the storm
You can lean on me when you're feelin' alone
Lean on me, lean on me
You can lean on me when your feelings ain't strong,
You can lean on me when you go through the storm
You can lean on me when you're feelin' alone
Lean on me, lean on me
We used to say we're friends for life and talk a different way
But things had changed ye moved away but who's to say
We knew the way
If my mistake I didn't call enough or check my phone display
I'd a came and made a day to come and watch a game okay,
I had some issues too, tryin' to work it out like you
We got wives we got jobs, we got lives
We got caught in are vibe it's okay were alive
I'm just saying that we all need a friend sometime
Call me let me know homie that you're doing alright, cool
You can lean on me when your feelings ain't strong,
You can lean on me when you go through the storm
You can lean on me when you're feelin' alone
Lean on me, lean on me
You can lean on me when your feelings ain't strong,
You can lean on me when you go through the storm
You can lean on me when you're feelin' alone
Lean on me, lean on me
The song "Lean On Me" by Manafest talks about the importance of having a friend to rely on during difficult times. The lyrics reflect the idea that even though life can be challenging, having someone who can be a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on can make all the difference. The song starts with the artist reaching out to a friend that he hasn't talked to in a while, telling him that he's there for him if he needs someone to talk to. The chorus then repeats the idea that the friend can lean on the artist when his feelings aren't strong, when he goes through a storm, or when he feels alone.
In the second verse, the artist talks to another friend who may be going through a tough time. He acknowledges that the friend may be going through some issues and may not feel like reaching out, but wants him to know that their friendship is not artificial and his offer of help is genuine. The artist also talks about how life can get in the way of keeping in touch with friends, but that doesn't change the fact that they still need each other's support.
Overall, "Lean On Me" is a powerful reminder that friendships are important and that having someone to lean on during tough times can make a big difference. It encourages the listener to reach out to those they care about and remind them that they are there to help if they need it.

We always used to talk about being friends for life, but things have changed and you moved away. If I made a mistake by not staying in touch enough, I apologize.
