In 2005, Glenn and the band he formed won a Battle Of The Bands competition on the island of Maui. With numerous performances already under his belt, Glenn formed Maoli in early 2008 with a new lineup of talented musicians. This Fall marks the release of Maoli's full-length debut album entitled, Groovin, on Pacific Island Records. The album's lead single, No One, is already receiving airplay statewide and is gaining popularity on island music airwaves. Other standout tracks from Maoli include the heartfelt Write Me A Letter, a song about missing a loved one, featuring Malinoβs Braddah Vince and the uptempo, Groovinβ, featuring the sweet vocal sounds of Piilani Arias.
Rumor
Maoli Lyrics

How many nights have we hung out together?
Same little crowd, little bar, little town
Around this old dance floor
My boys are laughing and tap me on my shoulder
Making a motion like "Could y'all get any closer?"
They wanna know what's up, why I'm still holding ya
There's a rumor goin' 'round about me and you
Stirrin' up our little town, the last week or two
So tell me why you even tryna deny this feeling
I feel it, don't you feel, too?
There's a rumor goin' 'round and 'round and 'round
What you say we make it true?
We make true
Well, I can shut 'em down, tell 'em all they're crazy
I can do whatever you want me to do, baby
Or you could lay one on me right now
We could really give 'em something to talk about
There's a rumor goin' 'round about me and you
Stirring up our little town, the last week or two
So tell me why you even tryna deny this feeling
I feel it, don't you feel, too?
There's rumor goin' 'round and 'round and 'round
What you say we make true
Oh, be honest, girl
Now do you wanna do this or not?
Should we keep 'em talkin', girl
Or should we just make 'em stop?
There's a rumor goin' 'round about me and you
Stirrin' up our little town, the last week or two
So tell me why you even tryna deny this feeling
I feel it, don't you feel it, too?
There's a rumor goin' 'round and 'round and 'round
What you say we make it true
Make it true?
Make it true?
Make it true?
The song "Rumor" by Maoli is about a guy who has known a girl for a long time and they often hang out together. There is a rumor spreading around their town that the two of them are more than just friends, and even though the girl denies it, the guy can feel that there is something between them. He suggests that they don't deny their feelings and make the rumor come true by starting a romantic relationship. The lyrics are simple yet effective in conveying the message of the song. The guy is honest about his feelings and wants the girl to be honest too.
The song's chorus, "There's a rumor goin' 'round about me and you, Stirrin' up our little town, the last week or two," emphasizes how rumors can spread quickly, especially in a small town. The guy is aware that the rumor is causing a stir in the town, and he doesn't seem to mind it. The song suggests that sometimes people should listen to their hearts and not what others say.
In a way, the song is also encouraging people to embrace their true feelings and not to hide them because of what others will think. The lyrics also emphasize the power of rumors and how they can have both negative and positive effects. Overall, the song is catchy, upbeat, and highlights the chemistry between two people who are afraid to admit their feelings.
