To sleep inside of me
The desire to be at peace and find solace within oneself.

Is all I want to be
The ultimate goal is finding inner peace.

I know what I see
While searching for this peace, one is able to understand and recognize the world around them.

I try this sleep to feel
One tries different methods, like sleep, to achieve the desired inner peace.

In the midst of the light or positivity, a struggle takes place.

The lines that try and fight
Negative thoughts and emotions that resist the positive light.

Left over from the day
The remnants of past negativity that carry into the present.

These things they want to stay
The negativity wants to linger and resist being overcome by positivity.

And now I fade away
As time passes, one slowly loses oneself.

The light has left the day
Positivity or happiness is no longer present.

The night has got her way
Negativity or sadness overwhelms.

And now I am the leaf
One feels small and insignificant like a leaf.

Bow I am the tree
But can also feel grounded and strong like a tree.

There's nothing left of me
The struggle with negativity has broken one down to nothingness.

No Mel left to see
The old self or sense of identity is gone.

Now I am the rose
Through struggle, one can also grow and bloom, like a rose.

Suppose I want to know
Curiosity about oneself remains despite the struggle.

What it's like to be
The desire to figure out one's identity and existence.

Not person being me
But without the constraints of one's pre-existing identity.

I breathed underground
In search of this new identity, one has to dig deep and explore the depths of themselves.

Surprised by silent sound
Revelation comes in moments of silence and introspection.

Singing in the trees
But these moments can also be joyful and bring about renewal and growth, like the singing of birds in a tree.

Made up of the breeze
These moments of renewal are fleeting and can be carried away like a breeze.

I wanted to be like blood
The desire to deeply connect with and understand others.

Dancing through you
To be able to intimately know and feel others' emotions and experiences.

Golden threads dancing through you
These connections can be beautiful and powerful.

Could be part of a rose
The realization that we are all connected and part of something greater.

Could be part of a leaf
We are all unique but share similarities and are connected to nature and the world around us.

Could be in the sea
Our interconnectedness extends to all living things and the vastness of the ocean.

The water you and me
We are all connected and flow together like water.

And moving out of form
Leaving behind old ways of thinking and being to embrace the interconnectedness of all things.

Into reality into reality
Fully embracing this interconnectedness, accepting reality for what it is.

And now I fade away
As we grow and change, old versions of ourselves fade away.

As we embrace new realities, we leave behind the old.

Change and growth is a continual process.

As we learn and grow, we shed old selves to become something new.
