Aurora
Marc David Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm as far away from Buffalo, as I could be, and your eyes, they shine so bright
In a sky full of stars, how can I hold on to just one, and keep it in my mind
Icy sky at night, snow rolling in. cnd I can feel your love, start to dim
Like an curora on the ridge

You heard I gave up drinking, only for a week, cause that whiskey calls me home
Make it an old fashioned, or I could take it neat, odds are, that you'll both keep me warm
You've gotta get up early, you know I stay up late, but you said “that's what keeps you young”You hear me sing my songs, you watch me up on stage, odds are, you'll still sing along

Overall Meaning

In the first verse of the song, the lyrics describe a physical distance between the singer and someone they care about ("I'm as far away from Buffalo, as I could be"), yet the person's presence is still vivid in their mind ("and your eyes, they shine so bright"). The metaphor of a sky full of stars represents the multitude of choices or options available to the singer, suggesting that out of all the possibilities, they want to hold on to this one person and keep them in their thoughts. However, there is a sense of sadness or loss as their love starts to fade away, paralleled to the dimming of an aurora on a ridge. The aurora, a natural phenomenon known for its vibrant colors, symbolizes the fading beauty and intensity of their relationship.

In the second verse, the lyrics shift to a mention of the singer's struggle with alcohol ("You heard I gave up drinking, only for a week, 'cause that whiskey calls me home"). Despite trying to resist the temptation, the allure of whiskey and its comforting effects weigh heavily on the singer. They mention the old fashioned cocktail and consuming whiskey neat, presenting various ways in which they seek solace and warmth. The use of the phrase "odds are, that you'll both keep me warm" suggests that both the whiskey and the person they care about provide them with comfort and a sense of belonging.

The third verse delves into the contrasting lifestyles of the singer and the person they are addressing. While the person needs to rise early in the morning, the singer tends to stay up late. However, the person views the singer's late-night habits as something that keeps them youthful. They acknowledge and support the singer's passion for music, as indicated by the line "You hear me sing my songs, you watch me up on stage." Despite their differing schedules, the lyrics suggest that the person will always be supportive and enjoy the singer's performances, continuing to sing along with them.

These lyrics depict a bittersweet combination of distance, longing, and adoration. The singer holds on to cherished memories and sentiments, struggling with the fading love and the allure of addictive comforts. Yet, there is also a sense of mutual support and understanding in their relationship, where the person embraces the singer's lifestyle and finds joy in their shared experiences. The song captures the complexities of love, distance, and personal struggles, encompassing both the melancholy and moments of warmth and connection.

**CORRECTION* at 01:07-01:08 I mistakenly referred to this R16 as R15 (Which is the previous model). That's what happens when you make videos at 2:00 am.😂

Nice and powerful desktop no doubt. At some point if not already increase in speed bring diminishing returns. How much more benefit does one get to keep increasing the speed of these? No doubt there will be some people who will keep wanting more and more but for most users what is available in the market will easily meet most users. I guess at the end of the day to each to their own when making a choice to purchase one of these. These reviews that you do still helps to inform potential buyers to make a more intelligent choice when purchasing a computer. Great quality review as always.

I’m loving just how much slimmer the Alienware Aurora R16 really is as I was never a fan of the futuristic, space-age design of the former. Dell makes some great desktops and it looks like they’ve been listening to their customers especially with the noise levels of the fans. Super video Andrew! 👍😀

I personally like the r15s design more looks wise

Proprietary sucks for how much it costs but good performance. The legion tower 7i series uses all standard parts though with a larger case to make it easier to upgrade.

Thanks for the video! I couldn't afford the RTX 4090 like the majority of other viewers. I just got the 4070. I would not be able to build this at the same price, plus I get excellent customer support. This i9 13th gen with added 64 GB RAM and an added 2TB M.2 with read/write speeds of 7300/5300 is insane. Adding the 5600 MHz 64 GB RAM was simple. Just "click" it in. It was instantly recognized by the computer. I was disappointed that I needed to buy the entire 64 GB RAM instead of just adding a 32 GB stick, but the memory market is at a new low, and memory is cheap at this writing. I found it interesting that this motherboard only has two memory slots instead of four.
Next, I re-defined my video library from an external SSD. I began moving 50-150 GB files. I was so HAPPY to see transfer rates of 600 MB/sec! AND STABLE! No sharp peaks! Just a fine line almost completely straight. I was in heaven. Still Am!
Next, I put the RTX 4070 (not TI) to use. I ran Overload on Steam and benchmarked at more than 100 fps on average! On Cyberpunk the average FPS was just 56, but it was still very impressive! The Raytracing is spectacular! Puddles look scary and real with reflections. No jitters, no hangs, no crashes, no problems with either. The only tweak I did was to set the GPU to performance.
Bluetooth needed the external antennae. Couldn't've used Bluetooth without it unless I sat one foot from the PC. Otherwise, my plethora of devices connected up like magic. The Wi-Fi was up and running faster than ever before. I uploaded files to my DropBox and it went well, but not incredible. That issue is my local internet provider. I still got over 500 Mb/sec download and 22 Mb upload. (I think this is the max available from my provider.) One issue I encountered was the face ports: When I plug in an external SSD into the USB C, the mouse that occupies the USB 3 near it gets squirrely and sputters. So, I use the rear USB3-C port instead. I was so happy to sell my R13! It was a beast! However, I did like the RGB.
Lastly, the new 13th gen i9 has almost double the power of the 12th generation. At 24 cores and 36 Mb Cache, it is the single largest update to the i9 in a long time, and (probably) future-proof! (can't speak for the i7 13th generation)
Unit price was under $2,000.00 before after market add-ons!
Conclusion: Run, don't walk...
