Libertad

Y a su Hijo dio.
El Hijo nos amó,
La libertad nos dio.
Qué gran necesidad,
Ser libres en su amor
Y eso Él me da,
Cayeron las cadenas;
Cristo las rompió.
Así lo declaramos:
Libres al fin estamos;
Siempre lo confesamos
Cristo nos salvó.
Generación salvada,
Nunca intimidada
Toda nación librada.
¡Cristo nos salvó!
Libre soy
The lyrics of Marco Barrientos's song Libertad talk about the love of God towards the world, and how he gave his son to achieve the freedom of humanity. The song highlights the importance of being free in his love, and how his love can set anyone free. It talks about how Jesus Christ broke the chains of slavery and oppression, and how he declared the people free.
The verses, "Al mundo Dios amó, Y a su Hijo dio. El Hijo nos amó, La libertad nos dio." explains that God loved the world so much that he sacrificed his only son to give liberty and freedom to everyone. And, because of his sacrifice, everybody can declare themselves free and share this liberating experience with the world. The chorus declares that Jesus Christ broke every chain of oppression and slavery, and with his love, they can now confidently say that they are free. The song's main theme is to celebrate the freedom and salvation accomplished by Jesus.
