She was born July 17, 1959 in Bayshore, New York and worked as a music teacher prior to moving to Nashville in 1985 to take a songwriter job with Sparrow Records. By 1986, the label signed her as a performer and she scored her first CCM chart hit "Fight for God" from debut album NEVER FOR NOTHING.
Her sound for the most part is pop but at times has shown influences from Motown (as on SIMPLE HOUSE's "Talk About Love") and Celtic music (via the NEW IRISH HYMNS series beginning with a 2001 collaboration with Máire Brennan and Joanne Hogg).
Outside her own singing, she formed a publishing company (Modernm) and has produced for other artists. She has also authored several books and involved herself with charitable organizations battling AIDS and poverty.
Make It Right
Margaret Becker Lyrics

But all around the heartaches cry
The search goes on and on and on and on
(You) keep looking for that perfect touch
(You) find somebody but they ask for too much
Everbody needs some love
You can't shake it, it's in your blood
And it goes on and on and on and on
You can't love until you know the truth
That there's somebody who has seen love through (so)
[Chorus]
Make it right
Fall in love with Jesus tonight
(Come on and) Make it right
Fall in love with Jesus tonight
You want the passion you want the fire
You want the romance, you've got the desire
But then the flame starts to die
Well, you move on and on and on and on
When will you learn that it's more than a kiss
When love has come why do you still resist
[Chorus]
Open up your heart let Him in
Tonight's the night, it's time to begin
Jesus waits for you, there's no strings attached
If you want a perfect love, all you need is to ask
[Chorus: x2]
The song "Make It Right" by Margaret Becker talks about the human struggle to find true love and how it often ends up with disappointment and heartaches. The lyrics suggest that people tend to keep on searching for that perfect touch and think they have found love, only to realize that it's not what they expected. The song portrays that people crave love and desire passionate, romantic relationships, but they do not want to commit fully or they give too much for too little in return.
The chorus of the song emphasizes that the only way to overcome this cycle of disappointment and heartbreak is to fall in love with Jesus, who has seen and experienced true love. The lyrics encourage listeners to open up their hearts to Him, stating that if they want a perfect love, all they need to do is ask.
The song is a reminder that true love lies in selflessness and commitment and that true fulfillment can only come from a relationship with God. Margaret Becker conveys this message through a catchy tune, in a way that listeners can easily relate to.
