Sex, sex, sex, sex (yeah)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (yeah)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)

Nothing is provocative anymore, even for kids
No room for imagining, 'cause everyone's seen everything

Question what the TV tells you
Question what a pop star sells you
Question mom and question dad
Question good and question bad

If history could set you free (from who you were supposed to be)
If sex in our society (didn't tell a girl who she would be)
'Cause all my life I've tried to fight what history has given me, me

Sex, sex, sex, sex (yeah)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)

If women were religiously recognized sexually
We wouldn't have to feel the need to show our ass-ets to feel free

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt
Sold my soul, and yeah, the truth hurts
Tired image of a star, acting naughtier than we really are

If history could set you free (from who you were supposed to be)
If sex in our society (didn't tell a guy who he should be)
'Cause all my life I've tried to fight what history has given me

Sex, sex, sex, sex (yeah)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (yeah)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)

All my life I've felt it deep inside of me
All this time was fighting for what I believe
All my life I've tried to hide what history has given me

If history could set you free (from who you were supposed to be)
If sex in our society (didn't tell a guy who he should be)
'Cause all my life I've tried to fight what history has given me

Sex, sex, sex, sex (yeah)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (yeah)

Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la)
Sex, sex, sex, sex (la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)

Overall Meaning

In the song “Sex Yeah!” by Marina and the Diamonds, the singer tackles the over-saturation of sexual imagery that has become prevalent in our society. She begins by stating that nothing is provocative anymore, even for kids. She suggests that with the abundance of sexual content, there is no room for imagination, and everything has become too explicit. She urges people to question what they are being told by the media and popular culture and to question societal norms about what is considered good or bad.

Marina then sings about how if history could set us free from the expectations placed upon us, particularly related to gender roles, we could be comfortable with our sexuality without the constraints of societal labels. She talks about the need for women to feel like they have to show off their bodies to feel free and how men face similar issues with what society expects their behavior to be like. She expresses frustration and a desire to fight against these expectations that have been given to her by history, as she sings the chorus, “Sex, sex, sex, sex.”

Overall, the song is a commentary on the difficulties of grappling with our sexualities in a world where they have become so openly commodified and commercialized. Marina acknowledges the power of sexuality but suggests that it has become too much of a beacon of our identities, instead of allowing us to explore our sexuality authentically.

History - 'His story'
Assets - 'Ass-ets'

Love how she words her lyrics and how she actually sings them with a prolonged note.

I've been unsettled by this line for so long as well, "I've felt it DEEP INSIDE of me."

I can't.

Also, put it to 0.75x speed. Those drums.

@miloradvlaovic

Well for start, there would be no Marina, nor any other female pop star or artist today, for all that matters,  If it was not for Madonna. Not so long ago, it was a widespread social taboo for women to sing as soloists. Madonna broke that taboo.

The eroticism is also something  that is not stereotype bound, largely thanks to people like Madonna. You're actually embracing the stereotype of "chaste" women, when You claim that Madonna acts "naughtier" than she really is. Men don't ask women to act like that, they actually want them to be what feminists preach - a chaste housewife, or hard working ( again chaste, modest ) business women, who's husband is allowed to cheat all the time, while to women must not even look other men.   She  ( Madonna ) acts like  she wants to act, she is who she is. She does not let the role of "mother" , "housewife" or any other define her, she can be all or none, when she wants to, and not when men or feminists tell her to be some of it, either.

Madonna "invented" the pop music, as genre, which is now the media, pop "stars" ,  and actual artists such as  Marina use to "express themselves". She spent her whole musical carrier fighting for the rights of the women,  just last year she enabled many women on Middle East to get education, in places where they would otherwise be put to death, If just they  thought about  educating themselves. Government would not give them as much as penny, so  that they could build a room to at least teach women to read, and  Madonna had built them a school.

I could go on, but this is neither the place neither the time. Besides, one who cares to acquaint themselves with her work on women rights, and empowerment will find that an easy task, as long as they really want to.

And You got it wrong, Miley's people practically begged Madonna to  come and perform  together with Miley. She has done Miley a favor that's it. Because she is an empathetic human being and most relevant living artist who can afford herself to defend a lost case that Miley is.

Have a nice day.

@TheBloodyRose2003

Men can do anything we can do.
We are the same,no matter what. It matters on the personality and opinion of the person.
When you root for a certain gender, you're basically sexist.
Good fucking job.
You are now a sexist.
AND,
Men do get blamed for rape, they get treated like sexy objects, they get shit on when they're in a powerful position, they get denied rights to their own body.
So,have a good day and SHUT THE FUCK UP please.
