O Come All Ye Faithful
Mario Lanza; Ray Sinatra Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Adeste fideles laeti triumphantes
Venite, venite in Bethlehem
Natum videte Regem angelorum
Venite adoremus
Venite adoremus
Venite adoremus
Dominum
O come all ye faithful
Joyful and triumphant
O come ye, o come ye to Bethlehem
Come and behold Him
Born the King of Angels
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord

Sing, choirs of angels
Sing in exultation
Sing all ye citizens of heaven above
Glory to God in the highest
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him

O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "O Come All Ye Faithful" by Mario Lanza depict the invitation to all faithful people to come to Bethlehem and behold the King of Angels. The opening lines of the verse "Adeste fideles laeti triumphantes" mean "Come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant" and it is accompanied by the call to go to Bethlehem and witness the birth of Jesus Christ, the King of Angels. The chorus of the song repeats the invitation to come and adore Him, stressing the significance of this event.

Throughout the song, the choir of angels sings in exultation, as they accompany the faithful to Bethlehem to the manger where Christ was born. They sing out their joy for Christ's birth and affirm their beliefs, declaring "Glory to God in the highest." This song, therefore, is an uplifting invitation to all Christian worshippers to come together and celebrate the birth of Christ, expressing both their awe and joy at this significant event.

MOST BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS SONG!

Chaz DeSimone

This is my favorite Christmas song and version from my childhood. But later I learned to love O Holy Night (because my Italian neighbors blared it every night from hidden speakers in their front lawn manger scene which I am so grateful for) and the version they played of O Holy Night, the finest version ever recorded, is by Mario Lanza.
