She was a member of the 1990s Swedish punk band Candysuck and has also been playing and recording with other musical constellations, such as Chihuahua and My Orchards. However, it is as a solo artist - Marit Bergman - that she has risen to national fame.
Debuting in 2002 with the album 3.00 A.M. Serenades on her own record company Sugartoy Recordings. The record was a success with the critics and was re-released by RCA/BMG in 2003. Following the major label release Marit Bergman embarked on a showcase tour in the United States. Her second album - Baby dry your eye - was released in March 2004 to further critical acclaim. The grand arrangements of its pop songs, in a style sometimes compared to Phil Spector, earned Bergman five Swedish Grammis nominations and two awards - Composer of the Year and Female Artist of the Year.
In 2005, a live-DVD, "Live at Rival" was released. In August 2006, her third album as a solo artist was released - I Think It's A Rainbow, by many considered to be her best album thus far.

I've been a factor i've been a slut
I'm gonna tell you I mean too much
I'm gonna tell you babe
I've been too vulgar I've been too sweet
I've been too adjusted, I've been a freak
I've been too fat to wear leather pants
None of my groupies want to dance
Aoaoaoao-o-oo
Yeieieieie-ee
Naoaoaoao-o-oo
Adios amigos buenos dias hear another, yeeeei!
I'm a lousy guitarists I sing auto-tune
I've been outknocksious I've been such a crude
I've been too young and now I'm too old
I'm just too heavy BABY BABY!!
Aoaoaoao-o-oo
Yeieieieie-ee
Naoaoaoao-o-oo
Adios amigos buenos dia hear another
Heyeyeyey-e-ee

Aoaoa
The song "Adios Amigos" by Marit Bergman seems to be a self-reflection and an attempt of the singer to come clean about who she is and what she represents. The opening lines "I'm gonna tell it just like it was, I've been a factor, I've been a slut" suggest that the singer is ready to reveal everything about herself, the good and the bad. She admits to being too vulgar or too sweet, too adjusted or a freak, too fat to wear leather pants, and having groupies who don't want to dance.
The chorus "Aoaoaoao-o-oo, Yeieieieie-ee, Naoaoaoao-o-oo, Adios amigos buenos dias hear another, yeeeei!" is a catchy and repetitive sequence of sounds that could be interpreted as the singer's attempt to disconnect herself from her past by saying "goodbye friends, hello another day."
The second verse "I'm a lousy guitarist I sing auto-tune, I've been outknocksious I've been such a crude, I've been too young and now I'm too old, I'm just too heavy BABY BABY!!" reinforces the idea that the singer is reflecting on herself and admitting her flaws. The chorus is repeated, followed by a bridge where the singer says, "Heyeyeyey-e-ee, Aoaoaoao-o-oo, Yeieieiei-e-ee, Adios amigos, Adi-Adios amigos, Adios amigos buenos dia hear another.....see man!" The repetition of "Adios amigos" suggests that the singer is ready to move on and let go of her past mistakes.
