In a recent dutch TV-item it turned out that these gentlemen are still enjoying life and playing their music in clubs and on stage (I think in the Las Vegas area).
They only produced one LP.

@cyclopstb After Superman saved Lacey from Nuclear Man, I was hoping it showed him flying her back to Earth saying something like "Ms. Warfield, wait here in this spot, Clark Kent told me that he will meet you here" where Superman then flies back into outer space to defeat Nuclear Man as it was shown in the movie. Then this scene begins showing that Superman kept his promise that Clark (who is Superman) will meet her in that spot.

Agreed. WBs released it unfinished. Originally it was screened in Europe @ 134 mins. The U.S. release was delayed & edited down to 96 mins. Just awful & the crucial scenes were left out. This film along w/ the first three films didn't release any anniversary editions. I've read that there are still unreleased footage from the first film, etc.

This would have been a perfect ending toward the end of the film. I would have included this film after Superman defeated the Sunman in outer space. This would have made sense because the audience wanted to see what happen next between Clark Kent and Lacy. It would have added some much more to the film, which was surprisingly short for a Superman film. God Bless.

There's more good scenes on the cutting room floor than in the movie. This is a film that desperately needs to be re-edited with cleaned up and updated effects. It would read like a completely new film.

#ReleaseTheReeveCut I say Reeve and not Furie because Furie was just a hired Gun director and only did what Golan and Globus told him to do while Reeve wanted the film to have more substance. In fact Christopher Reeve and Sidney J. Furie actually we're at odds during filming which was why Reeve decided to direct a lot of the action scenes himself. So if a new edit ever does get made of the film it should be called The Reeve cut, since it was his story and his film that got botched.

Is it just me or does just about every deleted scene in Superman IV look better than the scenes in the actual film?

In a way I love that the Cannon Group entirely messed this film up because that makes it this entity that we all poke curiously every once in a while, whether that is wondering how in the hell this film actually made it to release or wondering how this film, with a big enough budget and better creatives, could have been better.

Well the pacing of this scene is WAY too slow for theater in the 80's, which was before movies had this slow "dramatic intensity" shit that was set at a snail's pace to make it seem SO serious. Back then, SECONDS counted; but now, movies turn minutes into hours.

Yethboth Well, Lois found out that Clark was Superman on the second film and Lois was his girlfriend and he didn't want her or anyone to know his identity where it showed at the end of the second film that he erased her memory with a kiss. Not only that, on the second film, Superman told his mom in spirit that he wants to sacrifice himself as a superhero just to be a regular human and fall in love and maybe marry Lois and his mom in spirit granted that wish with a crystal capsule and when Clark found out that General Zod was taking over Earth, Clark told Lois that he has to go back to being Superman feeling that he made a mistake sacrificing himself to be a regular human. So for that, Clark wouldn't want to be a couple with anyone and if Lacey found out that he was Superman, he would kiss her to erase her memory.

While both Superman III and IV are flawed films, they both try to give more story to Clark Kent. In both films, the love interest is Clark's rather than Superman's. And both try to show how much of Superman is Clark Kent, and vice versa.

Superman III was half a great movie. The Smallville stuff was touching, and evil Superman was fucking great! The production values were also very high, and even the Pryor bits are entertaining.

Superman IV, despite the clunky structure and poor VFX, had some genuinely good scenes thanks to the chemistry of the cast, and the glimpses into Clark's life that we hadn't seen before were really interesting. Plus, Nuclear man was really cool. I loved his costume which was a dark mirror image of Superman's with the black cape and boots.

It needed about 30 years to see this. A woman kissed clark, not superman and he is not acting like a jerk but more like how could be clark without superman. She is interested by a normal guy and not by a man who has to save the whole world.

Superman III bombed because they didn't take it seriously. Superman IV was obviously a "message film" about Nukes. It made a pretty good haul even though the budget was a little cheap. This scene should have been left out though. Why Clark didn't want to be with Lacey at this point is stupid. He dumped Lois in Superman III for Lana Lang cause of the personal drug and mental health problems of Margot Kidder. Its amazing they didn't make a Superman V, since this film did do fairly well.

Christopher Reeve made Superman seem real. He played it better then anyone. If they remake Superman they need to make it brighter, more uplifting and fun, like the Reeve movies, not sad and depressing.

@62202ify That's true since she knew that Superman is a superhero and will have enemies and probably felt that if she is his girlfriend, his enemies could hold her hostage since General Zod and his two henchmen (Ursa and Non) had her as a hostage since Ursa said "since he cares so much for her, let us take her." Also yes, in "Superman Returns", she didn't appreciate that he left Earth without saying a word being unknown where he went until he told her that he flew back to the location where Krypton was explaining that Astonomers said it was found and that it took him five years to realize that it was gone and returned back to Earth because of that. Also, because of her anger towards him, she wrote a newspaper headline titled "Why The World Doesn't Need Superman?" where she told him that she moved on and the world doesn't need a superhero which probably was another way of saying to him that he should have said something and that he left without saying "bye."

I guess these things Lois said to Clark kind of showed that she wasn't interested in Clark anymore and of course, she was even brave enough to feel for herself to move on in life as seen on the 5th film titled "Superman Returns" where she started dating Perry White's son Richard White but somehow, she still made love to Superman where they conceived a child named Jason.

@62202ify Perhaps Lois doesn't care for one thing, after she saw that Clark gave a diamond ring to Lana Lang on the third film, she probably lost interest in Clark and she also had a jealous look on her face. Not only that, Lois even told Clark that Lacey is really interested in him and in the scene where Lois, Lacey, Superman, and Clark were going to meet together to have dinner, Lois made Lacey look beautiful for Clark which was also hard for Clark and Superman because Superman had to change himself back to Clark fast and Clark had to change himself back to Superman fast going back and forth.

I never liked Lois. She was a terrible person. She was infatuated with Superman only because he has great powers. Thats not love, thats greed. Lana and Lacy on the other hand were really in love with Clark.

I agree, I never liked Lois. or at least this series version of Lois. Being arrogant and rude doesn't mean that a female is a "strong women", it means they are arrogant and rude. To be fair she did mellow by Superman IV and her and Clark seemed like good friends, also her and Superman's "romance" seemed to have developed into more of a friendship too. Like, they still love each other but they know it'll never work. Lana was always the best suit for Clark. Not only was Annette O' Toole absolutely gorgeous, but she really cared about him more than Superman.

Lois was egotistical. She always fell for men with some kind of power: Bruce Wayne (very rich), Lex Luthor (rich and powerful) and Superman. She was not into humble men at all.
