Seasons Change

It's raining, but still, that's no reason to hide.
Put on your coat, we can still play,
Or go for a walk, rain as it may,
'Cause if you love life, it will keep you warm,
In all weather, even rain and storm.
We learn that spring sends the winter away,
In all these years past, why didn't we learn?
That we'd be better of pleading with whomever make the earth turn,
'Cause seasons change, they go as quick as they came, and
It's not their fault, if we choose to stay the same, and
Not grow at all, neither strong, nor tall.
But if you ever want to play a game with me,
To run around the woods, and climb the tallest tree,
To make ourselves a couple kites, and see them fly,
We can reach out to a cloud to try and touch the sky.
The lyrics of Marketa Irglova's song "Seasons Change" convey a profound message about embracing the ever-changing nature of life. The song encourages listeners to open their doors and step outside, even in the rain, as it emphasizes that there is no reason to hide from the challenges that life brings. It suggests that by facing and accepting these challenges, we can find warmth and beauty even in the midst of difficult circumstances. The line "if you love life, it will keep you warm, in all weather, even rain and storm" suggests that a positive mindset and a deep appreciation for life can provide comfort and strength no matter what the external conditions may be.
The lyrics then delve into a reflection on the passage of time and the cyclical nature of the seasons. It implies that although we often long for a particular season to stay or wish that time would slow down, we fail to realize that change is inevitable. The repetition of the phrase "seasons change" emphasizes this fact, highlighting the transient nature of everything in life. The lyrics then suggest that it is our own responsibility to adapt and grow, rather than expecting the external world to remain constant.
In the final verse, the song takes a more lighthearted turn, inviting the listener to engage in playful activities and embrace the simple joys of life. It encourages the listener to play games, explore nature, and aim high, symbolized by attempting to touch the sky by reaching out to a cloud. This is a metaphor for pursuing our dreams, taking risks, and pushing the boundaries of what we believe is possible.
Overall, "Seasons Change" is an uplifting song that encourages listeners to embrace change, find joy in the present moment, and strive for personal growth and fulfillment.
